In recent days, at landslide sites on key traffic routes, officers and workers of road management units have persistently stayed at the scene in the rain and wind, quickly handling landslide sites. They have worked through the night, continuously working overtime to clear rocks and soil, clear sewers, and ensure vehicles can circulate safely as soon as possible.
Recorded at the landslide point on National Highway 217, section Km151 - 250 in Quan Son commune, early in the morning of September 30, 2025, a large volume of rock and soil estimated at over 3,000m3 from the positive slope suddenly collapsed, covering the entire road surface, causing the route to be blocked. traffic This blood vessel is completely paralyzed.
Directly directing the handling of the incident, Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Director of Thanh Hoa Road Management Joint Stock Company II, said: “This is an area where landslides often occur every time there is heavy rain. We have urgently mobilized excavators, bulldozers and human resources to the scene to handle the situation. However, the continued landslides have made the recovery work difficult. By the morning of October 2, the road was completely open to traffic. Currently, the unit is continuing to clear the landslides to make traffic flow more smoothly.”
It is known that Thanh Hoa Road Management Joint Stock Company II is currently managing and maintaining National Highways 15, 15C, 16, 217. After storm No. 10, tens of thousands of cubic meters of landslides, sedimentation, and blocked sewers and drainage ditches were recorded on all routes managed by the unit.
To handle the situation promptly, the unit mobilized 15 vehicles and dozens of workers to work continuously for many days. Along with that, the company coordinated with local authorities to arrange forces on duty 24/24 at key points during the rainy and stormy season, ready to respond and handle any incidents as soon as they occur.
Not only on National Highway 217, on National Highway 16 through Chung Son village, Son Thuy commune, the situation is even more complicated when the flood on Luong river collapsed the foot of Son Thuy bridge at Km89+580, completely cutting off traffic of 6 villages with about 300 households.
Facing the risk of being isolated, the authorities and people of Son Thuy commune proactively mobilized materials and worked day and night to build a temporary bridge. Thanks to their joint efforts, by the afternoon of October 2, the temporary bridge was basically completed, helping people on both sides of the river to cross in time, ensuring their daily essential needs.
Regardless of the rain and wind, the forces cleared the traffic jam on National Highway 47.

We have focused on human resources and machinery to initially overcome and basically clear the route. In addition, the commune also set up stakes, stretched warning ropes, and arranged 24/7 on-duty forces at villages, culverts and vulnerable points to guide people and prevent risks of insecurity."
As of October 2, due to the impact of storm No. 10 and the rain and floods after the storm, 48 locations on National Highways were flooded, causing traffic jams (40/48 locations have been cleared of water), 45 landslide locations caused traffic jams (34/40 locations have been cleared of water); the road at the beginning of Son Thuy Bridge on National Highway 16 was broken for a length of about 10m.
Heavy rains and floods caused 83 locations on provincial roads to be flooded, causing traffic jams (60/83 locations have been cleared of water), and 39 landslide locations caused traffic jams (26/29 locations have been cleared of traffic).
In addition, the floods also caused landslides at 257 locations on rural roads with a volume of 57,035m3, 12 residential bridges and temporary bridges were washed away, 25 spillways and overflow tunnels were damaged...
The entire construction industry mobilized 134 bulldozers, excavators, cranes, road rollers; 101 trucks and 590 workers directly involved in handling traffic incidents.
