Opening of the Information Update Program for comrades expected to be nominated as Head of Representative Office in 2025

On October 15, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Organization and Personnel in coordination with the Diplomatic Academy organized the Opening Ceremony of the Information Update Program for comrades expected to be nominated as Heads of Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad in 2025.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu delivered an orientation speech at the Opening Ceremony.

The program is an activity in the annual training and fostering plan for cadres, civil servants and public employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to equip knowledge, skills, update information, and support comrades expected to be nominated as Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies to further improve their capacity in implementing foreign affairs tasks and managing Vietnamese representative agencies.

This year's program includes 21 topics and 2 seminars, updating and supplementing the content on new policies and guidelines of the Party and State on perfecting the political system and socio-economic development in the new era.

During the content development process, the Program received close attention and direction from comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that the responsibility of the head of the Vietnamese representative agency - the representative of the country abroad is both a glorious and noble task, but also full of difficulties and challenges, requiring the Heads of the Vietnamese representative agencies to have the capacity, skills, knowledge, experience in handling, resolving and managing the work of the Vietnamese representative agency in all situations, especially in the context of the changing world and regional situation and the current development requirements of the country.

Therefore, the staff of the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies need to conduct in-depth research, grasp the Party's guidelines, policies, and viewpoints and the State's policies, grasp the country's situation, always put the national and ethnic interests and the people's interests first and foremost to fulfill the assigned responsibilities, and contribute with the entire diplomatic sector to continue to enhance the country's prestige and position in the international arena.

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu expressed his hope that the comrades expected to be nominated as Heads of Representative Agencies this year - the first year of implementing Resolution 292/NQ-CP of the Government on "Plan to build and develop the diplomatic sector to 2030, vision to 2045" will thoroughly grasp the spirit of transforming thinking from management to creation, from term thinking to phase thinking to contribute to building a professional, comprehensive, modern diplomacy, bringing the diplomatic sector to develop strongly, commensurate with its important and regular role in the new era.
