Valedictorian receives 200% scholarship for first year tuition
Today (October 14), Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the official university opening ceremony and a program to welcome new students for the 2025-2026 school year. The school welcomed nearly 100 international students to study.
Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, Principal of the school, said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will train 51 bachelor's programs; 12 master's programs; 8 doctoral programs in all 3 fields of economics , engineering and social sciences. The current training scale is over 40,000 university students, 1,187 graduate students and 154 doctoral students. The rate of students having jobs within 12 months of graduation is over 95%, of which the rate of jobs related to the training industry accounts for nearly 83%.
In this year's enrollment, more than 5,600 new domestic students were admitted and enrolled in 46 training majors. Of which, the field of business management had the highest number of students admitted with 41.6%. The top student in the entrance exam this year based on the school's high school graduation exam scores was Doan Hoai Khanh Ly (scored 27.75 points, admitted to the sociology major), receiving a scholarship equivalent to 200% of the first year's tuition and 100% of the tuition in the following years.
In addition, the school welcomes nearly 100 international students from Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia, Mexico, Mongolia, Laos, China, Fiji...

Sharing the reason for choosing to study at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Lim Mey Mey said that she is a person who loves languages and wants to study them in depth. Meanwhile, the Chinese language department of Ho Chi Minh City Open University specializes in Chinese-Vietnamese and Chinese-English translation. Therefore, this major meets the job orientation related to Chinese, such as translator, Chinese teacher, assistant, etc.
