Survey on handling voters' petitions on domestic water quality

Implementing the plan to survey the settlement of voters' opinions and recommendations to grasp the situation of domestic water quality, on the morning of October 16, the Survey Team of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee had a working session with the People's Committee of Tra Con commune.

The delegation surveyed the water supply station in Tra Con commune.

Attending the survey delegation were comrade Kim Ruong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Le Thi Thuy Kieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

According to the People's Committee of Tra Con Commune, the commune currently has 5 centralized water supply stations under the Rural Clean Water Center. The number of households using clean water from the centralized water supply plant is 9,477 households, accounting for 97.76%. Through statistical investigation, the commune still has 217 households that do not have access to tap water.

For Tan My and Tra Con Water Supply Stations, which are operating beyond their original design capacity, the water quality at some points in time has not met the regulations. Based on the people's demand for tap water for daily use, the Commune People's Committee has reviewed and proposed the Rural Clean Water Center to consider surveying and investing. In addition, the Commune People's Committee has received and resolved 2 opinions and recommendations from voters related to the supply and use of tap water for daily use...

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Kim Ruong requested the locality and relevant agencies to focus on reviewing and regularly checking the water treatment process to ensure compliance with standards; clearly defining the responsibilities of each unit and individual to take measures to handle and overcome the problem to ensure clean water for people's daily life.
