In the first quarter of 2025, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province issued many documents directing departments, branches and localities to develop and organize the implementation of science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and Project 06 in the area.

According to the report, the Provincial Police have successfully carried out the following tasks: Collecting DNA samples for the first batch of Vietnamese heroic mothers, mothers of martyrs and relatives of martyrs; issuing criminal records from the Department of Justice; testing and issuing driving licenses; issuing electronic identification accounts for agencies and organizations. Specifically, by 1:00 a.m. on April 27, 2025, 103/117 DNA samples were collected, reaching 88.03%. From March 1 to April 26, 2025, 3,597 records were received, of which 2,626 were received via VNeID, reaching a rate of 73%; 3,310 records were returned, of which 2,337 were received via VNeID, reaching a rate of 70.6%. From March 13, 2025 to now, the work of testing and issuing driving licenses has issued and reissued 2,872 cases, received 414 cases through public services, reaching 14.4%...

Kien Giang enhances the application of science and technology in agricultural production.

By March 15, 2025, the Department of Justice had completed transferring 1,738,517 data on digitized civil status to the National Electronic Civil Status Database; the Department of Agriculture and Environment had coordinated with the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order - Ministry of Public Security to verify and provide information on land users with ID cards to convert to ID numbers in the National Population Database. Next, the province focused on synchronously implementing solutions to promote digital transformation in the management and operation of state agencies, achieving many positive results. The e-Office software system operated effectively at 771 agencies with 7,736 accounts and 3,845 users on mobile devices; the system processed 213,883 incoming documents, issued 75,393 outgoing documents, and the rate of digitally signed documents was 86.7%. Digital infrastructure received investment attention, network access speed and the rate of households using fiber optic cables were increasing, creating a favorable foundation for the development of digital government. The rate of timely administrative procedure disclosure reached 100%; the satisfaction level of people and businesses reached over 91%, showing a clear improvement in service quality.

Through the discussion of delegates at the Conference and to complete the goals and tasks of digital transformation and Project 06 in the coming time, Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan requested relevant departments, branches and localities to continue to closely follow the directions of the Central branches to advise the Steering Committee and the Provincial People's Committee with the highest political determination.
