Currently, Vietnam has established Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships with 7 of the world's leading powers.
During Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's recent official visit to Australia, Vietnam and Australia announced the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is the highest level in Vietnam's foreign relations with other countries in the world. Thus, up to now, Vietnam has had Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with 7 countries. These include: China (2008), the Russian Federation (2012), India (2016), South Korea (2022), the United States (9/2023), Japan (11/2023) and Australia (2024).
