Welcoming Ms. Zingoni and her colleagues from GE Vernova Company to visit Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the visit is meaningful as Vietnam and the United States celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and continue to implement the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Informing that the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, after nearly two years of establishment, continues to deepen, become more substantial and effective, in particular, economic , trade, investment, science and technology cooperation continues to be the foundation and driving force for promoting bilateral relations, the Prime Minister highly appreciated GE Vernova's participation in many important power projects in Vietnam, as well as GE's companionship in Vietnam's development process and in the relationship between Vietnam and the United States.
Expressing her honor to be received by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Ms. Zingoni said that GE Vernova (GE) operates in the electricity sector, present in more than 100 countries, with revenue in 2024 reaching 35 billion USD.

GE started doing business in Vietnam in 1993 and currently has about 1,700 employees. Currently, GE Vernova participates in a number of typical projects and activities in Vietnam such as: Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants; Son La and Lai Chau Hydropower Plants and solar power, wind power, and transmission grid projects in Vietnam...
Assessing Vietnam as a very safe "base" for the Company, Ms. Zingoni said that GE Vernova plans and wishes to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam such as: Providing equipment for LNG power plants; building transformer stations, equipment and power transmission solutions; providing digital technology solutions in the electricity industry..., together with Vietnam to carry out the mission of developing clean energy.
The Prime Minister said that Vietnam is currently striving to promote rapid and sustainable development to achieve two 100-year goals: becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, and a developed country with high income by 2045. Accordingly, the demand for electricity for the economy is very large and urgent; at the same time, Vietnam participates in the ASEAN power grid, contributing to energy security and safety for the region.

Vietnam advocates the development of clean electricity; has actively participated in global commitments on combating climate change and implemented many measures to promote and expand the capacity of renewable energy sources; continuously orients and perfects the legal framework for energy types to be developed synchronously, effectively and to exploit available potential to the fullest... The Vietnamese Government is committed to creating all favorable conditions, including institutional reform, for foreign investors in general, including the United States, to invest and do business effectively in Vietnam, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
To consolidate and maintain the positive momentum of economic, trade and investment cooperation in particular and the Vietnam - US relationship in general, with "far-sighted vision, broad thinking, deep thinking, big action", the Prime Minister suggested that GE Vernova expand its investment in Vietnam to meet Vietnam's energy needs and sustainable development goals; contribute to the development of Vietnam's infrastructure and energy ecosystem, especially developing and participating in power source and grid projects; contribute to perfecting institutions, paying attention to training high-quality human resources in the electricity industry; transfer advanced technologies and experiences to contribute to the development and modernization of Vietnam's electricity industry, especially turbine manufacturing technology; research and develop hydrogen power projects in Vietnam, towards the goal of converting to green, clean and sustainable energy...
Proposing GE Vernova to cooperate and invest in a number of specific projects, identifying Vietnam as a long-term strategic location, building a research and development (R&D) center in Vietnam, signing cooperation agreements on developing power sources, power transmission, and power grids with Vietnamese partners such as the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group (Petrovietnam), Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the Prime Minister requested the Company to continue to speak out in support of Vietnam in tariffs with the United States; together with US corporations, play an important bridging role, conveying the message of correctly assessing the actual situation and Vietnam's efforts to the US government on tariffs; contributing to bringing the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to continue to go deeper, more substantial and more effective.
Director Zingoni highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts and commitment in the process of electrification towards green, clean, and carbon emission reduction; congratulated and appreciated Vietnam's economic development process, as well as Vietnam's human resources; committed and wished to improve the Company's supply chain, meeting Vietnam's needs; and at the same time, made efforts to resolve trade challenges between Vietnam and the United States as commented by the Prime Minister./.
