Celebrating 20 years of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Eye Hospital

On the morning of September 19, in Ba Ria Ward (HCMC), Ba Ria - Vung Tau Eye Hospital held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Pham Viet Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee; Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.

Accordingly, on October 27, 2005, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Eye Center was officially established, on the basis of separation from the ophthalmology department of the provincial hospital 2. In 2014, the center was upgraded to a 100-bed hospital and in 2017, it was given financial autonomy in group II.

Leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City and the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee attended the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Eye Hospital.

Up to now, the hospital has examined and treated over 1 million outpatients, performed over 64,000 surgeries, contributing greatly to the work of eliminating blindness. In the coming time, the hospital will attract more human resources, improve professional skills, expand technical services, invest in developing breakthrough specialized spearheads, and develop community eye care.
