Lam Dong celebrates the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day

On the afternoon of August 25, the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province held a conference to summarize the activities of the 15th term, 2021-2026 term and met with generations of National Assembly Deputies on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election.

Many unique and meaningful performances welcome the meeting of generations of National Assembly deputies.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province; Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province; Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Dang Hong Sy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Bui Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Hoai Bao, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, term X.

Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam and Comrade Nguyen Hoai Bao, Former Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, Former Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong Province, 10th term, attended the meeting.

In his welcome speech, Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam reviewed the historical tradition of the first General Election Day. Accordingly, exactly 80 years ago, on January 6, 1946, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, our people conducted the General Election to elect the first National Assembly. It was a major event, marking a great turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution.

Provincial leaders attended the meeting

For the first time in thousands of years of history, our people have exercised their right to be masters of the country, holding their own ballots to choose worthy representatives for the highest State power organ. The birth of the first National Assembly is a symbol of the will for independence, self-reliance and the aspiration for peace, to build a democratic, free, prosperous and happy nation.

Over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese National Assembly has constantly strived to successfully fulfill its historical mission.
From building and perfecting the legal system, deciding on important national issues, to performing the supreme supervisory function, the National Assembly always demonstrates its role as the representative body of the people, the highest State power body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The great and historic achievements that our country has attained in the struggle for national liberation, national reunification and in the process of innovation and international integration always have extremely important contributions from the National Assembly and generations of National Assembly deputies.

Comrade Bui Thi Hoa, former President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dak Nong province, term XII, spoke at the meeting.

During that glorious journey, generations of National Assembly deputies of Lam Dong province have upheld their sense of responsibility, closely connected with the people, and honestly reflected the thoughts and aspirations of voters. At the same time, they have contributed many accurate and practical opinions to the process of law-making, supervising the implementation of the Constitution and deciding on important issues of the country.

During the 2021 - 2026 term, the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province has promoted the tradition of solidarity, innovation, proactiveness, responsibility and achieved very encouraging results, worthy of the trust of voters and people.

Comrade Dao Xuan Nay, former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Thuan province, term XII, spoke at the meeting.

On July 1, 2025, the Lam Dong Provincial National Assembly Delegation was newly established on the basis of merging 3 National Assembly Delegations of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces. To date, the Delegation has 19 members; of which, there are 8 Central delegates and 11 local delegates.

Although it has only been officially operating for nearly 2 months, the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province has been very active in implementing important tasks such as: Perfecting the organization, apparatus, and personnel; organizing and ensuring necessary conditions for the provincial National Assembly Deputies to meet voters right after the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly...

Comrade Nguyen Ba Thuyen, former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, 13th term, spoke at the meeting.

On behalf of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial Party Secretary respectfully acknowledged and expressed deep gratitude to generations of National Assembly Deputies of Lam Dong province through the years.

Faced with the new requirements and tasks of the country and the province, the Party Committee, the National Assembly Delegation and the people of Lam Dong province will continue to be united, make efforts, promote potentials and advantages, and build the locality to develop more comprehensively and sustainably.

Comrade Vo Ngoc Hiep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Nguyen Huu Thong, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to individuals with outstanding achievements.

The Provincial Party Secretary believes that the National Assembly deputies of Lam Dong province will continue to be a reliable bridge between voters and the National Assembly, a team of policy makers, planning the country's future in the period of comprehensive innovation.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Deputies expressed their excitement at the changes and development of the country and Lam Dong. At the same time, they hoped that in the coming time, as a bridge between the Party and the People, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation would continue to promote its role as a critic, contributing its intelligence and experience to the activities of the National Assembly.
