According to information from the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), on September 28, Deputy Director Le Ba Anh signed a document to send to regional agricultural, forestry and fishery quality centers and facilities packaging live aquatic products for export to China, requesting them to proactively implement plans to export aquatic products to this market.

The Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development said that this unit has received feedback from a number of live seafood export enterprises at Mong Cai border gate ( Quang Ninh province) about Dong Hung border gate Customs (Dong Hung city, Guangxi province, China) limiting the daily clearance of goods, while increasing inspection of goods, leading to congestion and the death of live seafood in the past few days.

Regarding this incident, the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development has sent a document to the Nanning Customs Department to clarify the information reflected by the business; at the same time, requesting to create favorable conditions for seafood exports from Vietnam.

The Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development requests regional agricultural, forestry and fishery quality centers to provide updated information to businesses when carrying out certificate issuance procedures, and requests businesses to proactively provide information, export plans, transportation and storage conditions to avoid risks and losses.

For Vietnamese enterprises exporting live seafood to China, the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development recommends proactively communicating with Chinese importers to update the situation and customs clearance capabilities before agreeing on orders, organizing transportation, and packaging for export of live seafood through the Mong Cai - Dong Hung border gate pair.

In addition, businesses need to have backup plans so that live seafood shipments are preserved in the best conditions during transportation and waiting for import clearance inspection.

As Thanh Nien reported, on September 21, the Customs Department of Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) said that in the previous 3 days, China had restricted lobster imports. After receiving this information, some businesses brought their goods to lagoons and cold storage for preservation. However, many businesses could not find a place to preserve them, so about 2-3 trucks with about 6 tons of lobsters died, forcing the owners to sell them at a rescue price of 400,000 VND/kg, only 1/3 of the market price.
