Lao Cai stops organizing Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival in 2025

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province has just decided to stop organizing the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival in 2025 to focus resources on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and the circulation of storm No. 11.

In order to preserve and promote cultural heritage associated with tourism development in the province, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 108/KH-UBND on organizing the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival and exploring the special national landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields in 2025. It is expected that the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival 2025 will be held at the end of October 2025.

Due to the impact of storm No. 10 (Bualoi) and its circulation, which has caused severe damage to the locality, and at the same time, storm No. 11 (Matmo) is continuing to have complicated developments, on October 6, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province decided to stop organizing the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival in 2025, to focus resources on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and proactively responding to the circulation of storm No. 11.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committees of localities, based on the actual situation, to continue to advise and propose the organization of cultural and tourism activities and events in the Muong Lo area with appropriate scale and form at appropriate times in the coming time.
