According to Russia Today, some Russian soldiers thanked US President Joe Biden for providing Abrams tanks to Ukraine, giving them the opportunity to receive bonuses for destroying them.
The video recording the soldier's thanks was released in the context of a number of heavy vehicles produced by the US and delivered to Ukraine being destroyed in less than a week.
A video that appeared on social media shows a Russian soldier dressed in full military uniform, wearing a helmet and a mask saying, “ We, Russian soldiers, express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Biden for sending Abrams tanks to Ukraine .” In the video, the soldier speaks in English.
The soldier then went on to explain that Russian soldiers would be rewarded for each Western device destroyed, and suggested that the US President continue to “send” more Abrams tanks to Ukraine, as the number of tanks being transferred to Ukraine was “so small” that it would take Russian forces a long time to hunt them down.

Initially, the US announced the delivery of 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine in January 2023. But the tanks did not arrive in Ukraine until the fall of 2023, and the Abrams tanks were not seen on the front lines until February 2024. Western military experts speculated that Kiev was saving them for a major offensive, or did not want to throw them at Russia's strong defenses in harsh weather and terrain.
“Washington has provided too few tanks to Kiev, forcing Moscow forces to actively hunt them down for bounties ,” said a Russian serviceman.

Earlier on March 3, Russian journalists reported that an Abrams tank and a mine-clearing vehicle mounted on an Abrams tank chassis were destroyed in Donbass. Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that it had destroyed the first US-made heavy armored vehicle in the conflict in Ukraine.
