Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Rach Nuoc Len is the longest canal in Ho Chi Minh City with a total length of nearly 65km on both sides of the canal, passing through 7 districts including: District 12, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Go Vap, Binh Thanh and Binh Chanh district. The project has 10 packages invested by the Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board (Urban Infrastructure Board) of Ho Chi Minh City. At the construction site, contractors are speeding up the construction of canal-side roads in the context of a very scarce source of sand for embankment. To avoid the situation of "waiting for sand", the joint venture contractor for construction packages No. 1 and No. 2 has flexibly arranged dozens of bulldozers and excavators to level the road surface and assigned workers to construct the load-reducing floor, drill piles, and cast various components. At the same time, hundreds of workers are deployed along the route to install manholes, technical trenches, and drainage culverts. A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Board said that the total progress of the entire project has reached more than 36%. Of which, the prestressed concrete pile driving item has reached more than 56%, equivalent to more than 33,500 trees. The centrifugal concrete pile construction item has also reached more than 40.6%, equivalent to 158,200m. The remaining items such as weak ground treatment with cement piles (CDM), manholes, and technical trenches are also taking advantage of the long dry season weather to speed up progress. The embankment wall project under construction package No. 1 is now 50% complete. Workers are working in 3 shifts to compete with the rainy season.

According to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, in the context of difficulties in sand resources, the contractor at the project proactively requested to construct the foundation and test rolling a 200m section with red gravel sprayed soil instead of sand. This is the type of soil dug up from the construction sites of technical trenches and drainage culverts. To get the right type of red gravel sprayed soil, the contractor must classify it with planting soil and mud. The test construction process also requires continuous watering during rolling to ensure humidity and adhesion.

Mr. Lam Tan Kiet, Director of Road Enterprise 1, Saigon Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company, commented: "Although it is only a trial, we hope to have positive results. If this type of soil can ensure equivalent quality to replace part of the sand for filling the foundation, it will save a lot of costs, optimizing the means and human resources of the construction contractor." The shape of the longest canal-side traffic route in Ho Chi Minh City has been revealed. The project is expected to create a huge boost to urban traffic as happened in 2012 when the Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal and the two routes Truong Sa and Hoang Sa were inaugurated.
