MC Vu Manh Cuong: 'Love is not a fairy tale' is a book that spreads love

MC Vu Manh Cuong and his friends hardly expected that one day White Rabbit would like to... write. That unthinkable thing was proven by the book launch of Love without a Fairy Tale on the afternoon of October 19 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Runner-up Duong Cam Lynh: "Reading Love is not a fairy tale , I feel comforted and healed"

Love without fairy tales is not a book that tells a sparkling love story, but is a slice of truth, sometimes rough, sometimes full of hurt but never makes people lose faith in love.

"This book is not to tell fairy tales, but to borrow fairy tales to remind us that, even though love is broken and incomplete, kindness and goodness always exist in each person. I do not write to tell fairy tales. I write to remind us that: even though love is sometimes incomplete, kindness still exists around us. I have lost faith, I have collapsed. But It's the helping hands in real life, the friends who silently give without calculation, The hands that silently supported me when I thought I couldn't get up made me want to write this book as a thank you," White Rabbit confided.  

Also according to the author of Love is not a fairy tale : "Spending all revenue to donate to shelters, or calling for the sharing of items for people affected by storms and floods is my way of repaying life, with the smallest things I can do."

As host of the book launch, MC - Editor Vu Manh Cuong could not hide his deep sympathy for the work and the author: "I am impressed with Love without a Fairy Tale not only because it is good but also because it has the things I crave. I crave to be sober, to look at my life, impartially, objectively, meticulously. But I cannot do it, sometimes even depending on the character I created. Meanwhile, White Rabbit is both passionate - sober, cold - warm, involved - and very objective. It is clear that she writes not only with the qualities of a writer but also with the mindset of a journalist. If there is a work for me to read, live and learn, Love without a Fairy Tale is a bright candidate."

The proceeds from the book sale and auction of items at the book launch raised nearly 35 million VND and all revenue from the book was used by author Tho Ngoc for charity.

Runner-up Duong Cam Lynh was moved: "I see myself in every word of the book. There are pains that seem unnameable, but when reading Love without a fairy tale , I feel lighter, comforted, and healed. This is a beautiful gift for women - not only on October 20th."

The entire proceeds from the book sale and auction of items at the book launch, which raised more than 50 million VND, will be donated by author Tho Ngoc to the Go Vap Center for Orphans and Disabled Children (HCMC), Thanh Son Shelter (Thanh Son Pagoda, Khanh Hoa ) and people in flood-affected areas.

"I hope the book Love is not a fairy tale becomes a small bridge, connecting heart to heart, so that someone out there who is lost also knows that they are not alone. And, if it can be a connection to give other lost hearts a ray of hope, then that is the greatest gift I have received from writing", author Tho Trang.
