On October 17, the seminar "Steadfastly rising - Developing sustainable human resources in the Vietnamese aviation industry" hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and Boeing Group on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20 attracted the attention of many representatives of units, businesses, airlines, etc. Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Uong Viet Dung attended and delivered the opening speech.

Director Uong Viet Dung sent best wishes to women in the aviation industry and honored the role of "half the world " in the industry: "Over the past 30 years of development, the Vietnamese civil aviation industry has affirmed the intelligence, bravery and perseverance of the Vietnamese people, especially Vietnamese women. That has contributed to the Vietnamese aviation industry overcoming difficulties and challenges, from the early days to today. We are gradually integrating very strongly into the international community, especially we have affirmed our position and shaped the image of Vietnamese civil aviation on the world map. In that common success, there is the extremely effective and responsible contribution of Vietnamese women, helping our aviation industry to be steadfast and ready to fly even higher."
The workshop attracted the participation of representatives of agencies and businesses in the aviation industry.
Previously, key positions in the aviation industry were often reserved for men, but now women are present in all positions in the aviation industry. Today, we have many female pilots, female captains, female air traffic controllers, female flight attendants, female aircraft maintenance engineers, etc. Director Uong Viet Dung also expressed his gratitude to female leaders in the aviation industry such as Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao: "In the aviation industry, we cannot fail to mention Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, a small but extremely resilient woman with great aspirations, thinking, and ideas, and a burning passion for developing Vietnam's civil aviation industry."
The discussion not only affirms the role of Vietnamese women, an important factor for the development of Vietnam's aviation industry in the new era.

Vietjet is a rare airline in the world that has a female Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director in charge of Finance as well as many department and division leaders. Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is always a person who pays much attention and strongly inspires activities to promote gender equality, creating conditions for women to develop in the working environment as well as in life.

Currently, women account for nearly 40% of Vietjet’s staff and 30% of the company’s management and executive leadership team. From pilots, flight attendants, engineers, flight operations staff to financial, commercial and communications managers – Vietjet women are contributing to creating a new face for the modern, dynamic and humane Vietnamese aviation industry.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's journey is a vivid testament to the aspiration to "serve the Fatherland with knowledge, responsibility and compassion", and at the same time inspires the young generation of entrepreneurs on the path to building a prosperous and happy country. And more specifically, it is a clear testament that gender barriers cannot hinder the development and success of women in the aviation industry or more broadly in the economy and society.

We are witnessing more and more strong young female pilots, engineers and leaders stepping forward to assert themselves in the aviation industry. In order to reduce barriers more and more quickly, we need to continue to inspire, share experiences, create opportunities for learning, training, development and encourage the next generation to dare to think and dare to do - from there, they will become excellent female leaders and managers of the future, contributing to taking the Vietnamese aviation industry to fly higher and further.
