Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vietnam - Russia High Pressure Oxygen Center, Ministry of National Defense , said that motion sickness occurs in some people due to conflicting signals sent to the brain or due to over-stimulation of the vestibular system. In addition, closed spaces, cigarette smoke, gasoline, oil from vehicles... also cause motion sickness faster. People with vestibular syndrome, pregnant women or women taking birth control pills, children, and women are at higher risk of motion sickness.

Common symptoms include restlessness, anxiety, increased sweating, pale skin, rapid breathing, nausea and vomiting, gastrointestinal spasms, dizziness, headache...

Some ways to limit motion sickness are as follows:

Don't eat too much or get too hungry. Get enough sleep before getting on a train or bus.

If you can sleep on the train or car, it can also help with motion sickness.

People who get carsick easily can also eat light and bland foods, drink some water, and avoid alcoholic beverages.

Eating fruits such as oranges, tangerines, biscuits, bread, dried fruits or nuts can reduce motion sickness. You can smell orange and tangerine essential oils, use fresh ginger and ginger tea to help reduce the smell of gasoline better.

People who get carsick should sit in the front seat or near the window and look into the distance. People who get carsick should absolutely not read books or look at their phones or computers while on the train or car.

There are some medications that can help prevent motion sickness, but they can cause drowsiness and should not be overused. Some ear patches also have a long-term effect in preventing motion sickness.

Keep your mind relaxed and not too stressed to reduce motion sickness and fatigue.
