A whole week before the Mid-Autumn Festival, throughout the localities in the province, the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival spreads through a series of meaningful activities, contributing to bringing each child a complete Mid-Autumn Festival filled with love.
Bustling full moon festival nights
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival is more exciting for children in Thanh Son than in previous seasons. About a week before the Mid-Autumn Festival, at Thanh Son Primary School, the Mid-Autumn Festival for Children - Lanterns to Light Up Dreams took place. Notably, although the program took place in the context of bad weather and incessant rain, it still could not stop the excitement of the children and their parents.

Ms. Phung Thi Mai (residing in Hamlet 3, Thanh Son Commune) said: Since the teacher distributed the Mid-Autumn Festival gift certificates, her children have been looking forward to the program every day. Seeing her children's excitement, she did not hesitate to brave the rain to take her children dozens of kilometers to the Mid-Autumn Festival for Children - Lanterns to Light Up Dreams Program. "As long as I can see my children happy and have more memories of their childhood, no matter how bad the weather is, I will try to take my children to participate. It's just a pity that today it's raining so hard, I only took the two middle children, leaving the younger one at home" - Ms. Mai confided.
In response to the children's excitement and anticipation, the Organizing Committee has designed a quality Mid-Autumn Festival program. Children not only receive gifts and enjoy children's art performances by the specialized team of Dong Nai Children's House, but also interact with Uncle Cuoi and Sister Hang, and watch magic shows. And especially, children can participate in folk games to receive gift vouchers.
Cao Thi My Chi, a student of class 4A3, Cach Mang school of Thanh Son Primary School (in Hamlet 1, Thanh Son Commune) said: This is the first time I have had such an early and grand Mid-Autumn Festival. I got to experience many games and my favorite was painting statues. It was the first time I had painted statues so I painted very meticulously with the hope of having the most perfect product to bring home as a souvenir. My Chi hopes to experience many warm Mid-Autumn Festivals like this.
Like My Chi, many children in the province, from urban to rural areas, remote areas, border areas all had a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival. Ms. Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council shared: This year's Mid-Autumn Festival, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated to organize the Full Moon Festival Night at over 10 locations in the province, including some main locations such as: Thanh Son, Tho Son, Loc Thanh, Song Ray, Dong Nai Children's House. Besides the activities of the Provincial Youth Union, departments, branches, localities from hamlets, neighborhoods to communes and wards all organized Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children. Through the program, all levels and branches wish to bring children a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival.
Preserving traditions, nurturing dreams
The Mid-Autumn Festival has long become a cultural beauty in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people associated with the legend of Cuoi and Hang; lantern procession; lion dance; feast breaking… In modern life, many forms of entertainment have appeared, but the traditional values of the Mid-Autumn Festival still need to be preserved and passed on.
Realizing this, the Youth Union of Xuan Lap Ward organized a Lantern Making Contest with the theme Lanterns light up dreams. Ms. Nguyen Dan Ha, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, Secretary of the Youth Union of Xuan Lap Ward said: This is the first time the Ward Youth Union organized a lantern making contest to create a highlight after the merger of communes and wards and especially to contribute to spreading the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival among union members and children.
The contest attracted 10 teams (10 members each) from the ward's youth union branches to participate. With the requirement of a minimum lantern height of 1.5m, with wheels, electric lights and music; made from traditional materials such as bamboo, cellophane, glue... and recycled materials, each youth union branch made a lantern with different designs: stars, animals, Vietnam map... According to Ms. Dan Ha, these lanterns are used for the lantern procession in the Mid-Autumn Festival program, helping children in the ward to have a joyful and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.
This activity not only takes place at the commune and ward levels, but also at schools, students have the opportunity to participate in many interesting activities. If in previous years, students at Chu Van An Secondary School (Cam My Commune) participated in making lanterns, decorating fruit trays, and performing arts, this year, they participated in the Cake Festival.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, teacher in charge of the Youth Union of Chu Van An Secondary School, shared: Mid-Autumn Festival is not only an occasion for children to have fun and receive gifts, but it also has the meaning of reunion. Therefore, every year, on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, the school organizes activities to attract students and parents to participate. This year's Cake Festival, the classes brought different types of cakes. After the presentations and introductions, parents and students of each class had a party together, thereby helping to connect students and parents in the class.
We highly appreciate the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Young Pioneers Council of Dong Nai Province for organizing many Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children in the province, especially in remote areas. The gifts that the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Young Pioneers Council and other sectors, levels and organizations bring not only contribute to taking care of children but also help them have more motivation to excel in their studies and life.
Mr. Le Anh Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers, Director of the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Children
Not stopping there, Mid-Autumn Festival is also an opportunity to educate the spirit of sharing. During this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, students of Nguyen An Ninh Primary School (Tam Hiep Ward) donated 25 million VND to disabled students at the Dong Nai Province Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education. It is known that this source of funding comes from the school's students' savings from their daily pocket money. This activity not only contributes to material sharing but also educates children to love and help their friends; strongly spreading the spirit of mutual love in the community.
