Severe heat, temperatures continue to rise

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (May 18), the North continues to have hot and extremely hot weather, with some places being especially hot with the highest temperature of 36-39 degrees Celsius, and some places over 39 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow (May 19), this area will still have intense heat, but the temperature will slightly decrease with the highest level at 35-37 degrees, in some places above 38 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 45-60%.

For the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, today the heat is still at its peak with temperatures of 37-39 degrees, some places over 40 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 35-45%; the heat is mainly from 10am-6pm.

Previously, yesterday (May 17), many places in the above areas had very high temperatures such as: Hoa Binh City (Hoa Binh) 41.2 degrees, Viet Tri City (Phu Tho) 40.5 degrees, Bac Me ( Ha Giang ) 40.1 degrees, Ha Dong (Hanoi) 41.3 degrees, Hoi Xuan (Thanh Hoa) 40.3 degrees, Do Luong (Nghe An) 40.3 degrees.

It is forecasted that heat and severe heat in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will last until around May 23.

Meteorological experts especially note that the predicted temperature in the heat bulletin and the actual feeling outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even higher depending on the conditions of the surface such as concrete and asphalt.

In addition, the Central Highlands and the South, although still sunny and hot, tend to cool down as thunderstorms often appear in the evening.

Northeast

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy, hot and sunny during the day, especially hot in some places; no rain at night. Southwest wind level 2-3.

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 37-39 degrees, some places over 40 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, hot and very hot in the North, with some areas experiencing extremely hot weather; sunny in the South, with some areas experiencing hot weather, with showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind in thunderstorms.

Central Highlands

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees, some places above 34 degrees.

Southern Vietnam
