Meritorious people are supported with 60 million VND when building new houses.

(Dan Tri) - Families of meritorious people who are eligible for support will receive 60 million VND/household when building a new house, and 30 million VND/household if renovating or repairing their house.

This is an important and meaningful content stated in Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on November 22, 2024.

This Decision stipulates the level of support for building new houses or renovating and repairing houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs, and at the same time determines the allocation rate of support capital from the central budget and counterpart funds from local budgets in the 2023-2025 period.

According to Decision No. 21, households with revolutionary contributions who are eligible for support will receive 60 million VND/household when building new houses and 30 million VND/household if renovating or repairing houses.

The decision clearly states that the support source is drawn from the central and local budgets.

This policy applies to households with revolutionary contributions as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 99 of Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP, currently living and having permanent residence in temporary houses or severely damaged houses.

Households that have received support from other policies in the past are also eligible for this policy, except for those that have received support under Decision No. 22/2013/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on housing support for people with revolutionary contributions.

Specifically, the subjects supported to build new houses or renovate and repair houses according to Decision No. 21 include: Revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945; Revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising; Martyrs; Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; Labor Heroes during the resistance war period.

War invalids, including category B war invalids recognized before December 31, 1993; people enjoying policies like war invalids; Sick soldiers; Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; Revolutionary fighters, resistance fighters, national defenders, and international duty fighters who were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy; Resistance fighters for national liberation, national defenders, and international duty fighters; People with meritorious services to the revolution.

Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg takes effect from January 9, 2025 to December 31, 2025.
