On the afternoon of October 9, the leader of Son Hoa Medical Center ( Dak Lak ) said that after many hours of emergency efforts, the health condition of the patient bitten by a green snake, Mr. Le Van Hoan (70 years old, residing in Trung Hoa village, Son Hoa commune, Dak Lak province) has temporarily stabilized and is being monitored and actively cared for.

Previously, on the evening of October 8, Son Hoa Medical Center admitted Mr. Hoan who was bitten by a viper on his left foot while walking in his garden. Before going to the emergency room, the patient managed to catch the snake, put it in a plastic bag and bring it to the hospital to inform the doctor.

The patient was admitted to the hospital with a snake bite on his left foot, swelling and bruising, chest pain, and fatigue...

Immediately after that, doctors and nurses joined in the emergency, treated the patient's wound, and prescribed IV fluids, supportive drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs...

On October 9-10, the patient was conscious, had good contact, and had stable vital signs, but his left foot was still swollen and the snake bite was bruised, so he had to continue to monitor his general condition for treatment at the internal medicine department of Son Hoa Medical Center.

According to Phu Yen General Hospital, in July and August alone, the hospital continuously received 19 cases of snakebite, most of them vipers. The patients were treated with health care and antivenom serum.

According to doctors at Phu Yen General Hospital, the rainy season is the breeding season for many venomous snakes, especially red-tailed green pit vipers. This is also the time when snakes often leave their habitats to look for food, increasing the risk of snakes crawling into residential areas and attacking people.

Patients bitten by snakes should not cut the wound themselves or suck out the venom with their mouths.

It is necessary to immobilize the bitten area, calm the mind and avoid too much movement. It is best to splint the bitten limb to reduce the risk of spreading the venom. Remove jewelry from the body, loosen the clothes you are wearing to improve blood circulation, avoid pressing on the wound causing swelling. Adjust the lying position so that the wound is lower than the heart to reduce the speed of venom spreading to the heart.

Clean the wound with clean water and soap or saline. Use dry gauze or clean cloth or towel to cover the wound and quickly move the victim to the nearest hospital. You can take pictures of the snake bite so that the doctor can easily diagnose whether the snake is venomous or not.
