Bustling construction site of North-South expressway through Ha Tinh on eve of Tet

Only a few days left until the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, but the construction site of the North-South Expressway through Ha Tinh is still being bustling with contractors.

Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway through Cam Quan and Cam Hung communes is still bustling during the days before Tet.

These days, taking advantage of the clear weather, at the construction site of the main route of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway through Cam Quan and Cam Hung communes (Cam Xuyen district), 10 road rollers, paving machines and many trucks of Xuan Truong Private Construction Enterprise (Xuan Truong contractor) are still bustling in and out of the construction site.

The Lunar New Year of Giap Thin is approaching, while everyone is preparing and decorating their houses to welcome the new year, at the highway project site, construction work is still being maintained continuously in "3 shifts, 4 shifts".

“Seeing everyone packing up to go home for Tet, I also feel excited. Working away from home for the whole year, on the last day of the year, I want to go home early to be with my family and relatives, but because of the progress of the national key project, we encourage each other to try a few more days” - Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh (from Ninh Binh , road roller driver) shared.

In the 54.2 km length of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, Xuan Truong contractor undertook the construction of 43 km of the main route along with many bridges, culverts and underpasses. Since the project was implemented, with the maximum mobilization of human resources and machinery to focus on construction, up to now, this contractor has completed 16% of the contract value of 2 construction packages, meeting the progress set by the investor.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Transport , the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section will be completed and put into operation from June 2025, but the contractor Xuan Truong is looking to shorten the progress by 2 months. The contractor plans to let workers work until February 7 (December 28) and then clean up the construction site for Tet holiday, and will start work again on February 13 (the 4th day of Tet).

Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Executive Director of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway project said: In recent times, with the efforts of contractors and the maximum support from departments and localities of Ha Tinh in site clearance and ensuring construction materials, the project progress has always been guaranteed. Up to now, the progress of the entire project has reached nearly 19%, basically meeting the plan set by the Ministry of Transport.

Due to the lack of pressure on project progress, contractors have not yet planned to work during Tet. However, with the goal of completing the project early, the Tet holiday has been shortened by contractors to 5-7 days and then they will return to the construction site.

Workers and machinery of contractor Vinaconex are busy constructing the expressway intersection with National Highway 8 through Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district.

The atmosphere of urgent work on the eve of Tet is also present at the intersection with National Highway 8 of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway section in the area passing through Thanh Binh Thinh commune (Duc Tho district) constructed by Vinaconex.

The interchange project is expected to be completed in June 2025, but because this is the connection point between the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway section of the North - South expressway project in the 2017 - 2020 phase and 3 expressway sections in the 2021 - 2025 phase through Ha Tinh, the contractor is required to shorten the construction time and complete it in May 2024.

To ensure the progress of the intersection project, Vinaconex is trying to mobilize human resources and construction machinery in "3 shifts, 4 crews". The construction pace is maintained until the days before Tet.

Although it is almost Tet, the working atmosphere at the North-South expressway construction site is still very urgent.

At this time, the Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway construction site is also bustling with workers and machinery working urgently.

Trucks carrying soil, crushed stone, road rollers and many groups of workers "race" against time to complete the earthwork, roadbed foundation and construction of the section leading to Hung Duc bridge connecting Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An) with Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh).

All items on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway section are scheduled to be constructed "throughout Tet"

With only about 3 months left to complete the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway section - scheduled to be completed in May 2024, while the amount of work to be completed is still very large, Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (project enterprise) requested contractors to arrange human resources and machinery to work "through Tet".

"For items that are critical to progress, contractors have planned to arrange enough workers and equipment for all construction sites to work through Tet," said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - General Director of Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company.

To motivate workers to work during the Tet holiday, contractors have appropriate incentives. During the Tet holiday, workers are paid 3-4 times higher than normal working days. After Tet, contractors will summarize the work volume during the Tet holiday of each project and each item to have appropriate bonuses for officers and employees.
