Carry out Uncle Ho's advice
63 years ago, on the morning of March 26, 1962, when Nam Cuong was facing difficult days, focusing on mobilizing human and material resources to build dykes to reclaim land and establish villages, it was an honor to welcome Uncle Ho to visit. Kindly asking about the lives and health of the people who reclaimed land and built villages, Uncle Ho was happy with the achievements and praised the people for their spirit of overcoming difficulties to enrich their homeland. Uncle Ho advised the people to unite, work together, and build Nam Cuong into a prosperous coastal commune.
Although he is over 90 years old, in the mind of Mr. Pham Trung Khoat, Chi Cuong village, Nam Cuong commune, the memories of Uncle Ho are still not faded: “More than 60 years have passed, the simple image and the thoughtful teachings of Uncle Ho are still imprinted in the memory of Nam Cuong people. Personally, the greatest honor and happiness in my life is to meet Uncle Ho, to directly listen to his instructions and guidance, I always remember and vow to strive to carry out his teachings for the rest of my life. I remember most the detail that Uncle Ho advised: “If you want to eat oranges, you have to grow oranges, the same goes for people who go to reclaim land, you have to work hard and produce to quickly stabilize your life” and “People who go to reclaim land face hardships no less than soldiers on the front lines. At first, there are hardships, everyone must unite like a rope made of many small threads, the big rope cannot break”.
Studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings, Nam Cuong today has truly changed. The land of vast flooded sedge fields, where birds flew tiredly without finding a place to land, has now become high-rise buildings springing up side by side. The local economy , culture and society are increasingly developing. These successes are achieved because Nam Cuong people always remember and follow Uncle Ho's teachings: Everything is difficult at the beginning, you must be determined to strive to overcome all difficulties to achieve what you want.
Uncle Ho's teachings during his visit gave the people of Nam Cuong strength and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges to build a new life and get rich right in their homeland. With a steadfast belief and lifelong loyalty to the Party and Uncle Ho, the people of Nam Cuong in particular and Hung Yen in general will forever remember the image of President Ho Chi Minh - the Father of the nation and be deeply indebted to him.

Journey to implement innovation
In the harsh natural context, with the determination to "push the waves away, build dikes to reclaim the sea, build villages and hamlets", the people of Nam Cuong, who eat the waves and talk to the wind with only their hands on the plow and hoes, after 1 year have made a miracle of reclaiming more than 200 hectares, expanding the area of cultivated land, including 90 hectares of rice land, more than 100 hectares of sedge and aquaculture. On the sour and salty land in front of the sea, much sweat poured down to make the first rice crop full of flowers and grains, yielding more than 100 tons of rice. Besides, Nam Cuong has paid great attention and focused on converting the crop structure. Initially, they grew rice and then switched to growing sedge; in 1992, they switched back to growing rice, and in 2001, 50% of the area was converted to aquaculture. During these years, Nam Cuong was the first locality in the province to carry out land accumulation and became a typical example in aquaculture.
With great potential for the sea, Nam Cuong has known how to promote its strengths. The locality has focused on developing fishing and aquaculture, considering it a spearhead in economic development. Nam Cuong has over 400 hectares of aquaculture, bringing in hundreds of billions of VND each year. Besides developing the marine economy, the commune also focuses on mobilizing people to develop livestock and poultry farming. Nam Cuong people remember Uncle Ho's teachings, have overcome many difficulties to reclaim land and reclaim the sea, building their homeland into a coastal commune that is on the path of strong development. The economic structure continues to have a strong shift from agriculture, forestry and fishery to industry, especially in the field of seafood processing with dozens of enterprises producing thousands of tons of seafood each year. Mr. Bui Van Khoi, Director of Nam Cuong Commune Seafood Production and Processing Company No. 6, shared: The company is focusing on developing and expanding the distribution system and retail agents in the Northern region to make it easier for consumers to access the products. Currently, on average, the company produces more than 40,000 liters of fish sauce of all kinds per month, with revenue reaching nearly 4 billion VND/year. Along with brand building and market development, the company is planning to expand its production scale, increasing output by 1.5 times compared to the present, striving to soon reach the revenue target of over 6 billion VND in 2026.
Success in aquaculture and seafood processing is a solid foundation for Nam Cuong to start building a new countryside. With the spirit of solidarity, unity and consensus, the Party Committee and the people of Nam Cuong have strived to be one of the first four communes to reach the new rural standard in Tien Hai district (old) in 2013. Implementing the policy of arranging administrative units, the new Nam Cuong commune was formed on the basis of merging the communes: Nam Chinh, Nam Tien and Nam Thinh, with a natural area of over 28,700km 2 and a population of over 37,700 people. Nam Cuong's socio-economic situation continues to improve, with the average total production value for the 5 years 2020 - 2025 estimated at over 1,100 billion VND, with an average growth rate of over 12.6% per year... Comrade Ha Van Tri, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Cuong commune, said: In the 2025 - 2030 term, Nam Cuong identified 3 key tasks, namely: Developing a sustainable marine economy, increasing people's income; building a new model rural area associated with the characteristics of the coastal area; building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; improving the effectiveness and efficiency of government management and administration and 2 strategic breakthroughs: Breakthrough in developing a sustainable blue marine economy, associated with tourism and high-quality services; Breakthrough in administrative reform associated with digital transformation and improving the quality of human resources.
