The 2025-2026 school year is the first school year of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training after the merger of provinces and cities, operating a two-level local government (provincial and communal levels).
Statistics show that after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City has nearly 2.6 million students from kindergarten to high school, over 100,000 administrators and teachers, and nearly 3,500 schools. The city's education sector requires the consolidation of resources, expansion of school size, teaching staff and area, requiring the flexible and creative adaptability of the entire sector.
