A turning point in infertility treatment
Ms. D.ML has polycystic ovary syndrome, has undergone 2 failed IVF and 1 unsuccessful frozen embryo transfer IVM. The mother has good ovarian reserve, but the egg stimulation response is poor, not achieving good results. On the fourth aspiration, Dr. Le Khac Tien advised her to apply a new method: Saigon protocol.
As one of the first cases to use the Saigon protocol of IVF My Duc, the patient L. was successful in conceiving in the first fresh embryo transfer with a day 5 embryo.
Ms. PHD, 35 years old, in Ben Tre had given birth to a baby completely naturally, but then waited for a second child for many years without any good news.

During that time, Ms. D. tried IUI three times but the results were still unsuccessful, making her want to stop many times.
After reviewing her medical history and condition, the doctors prescribed the Saigon protocol - a method that does not require any injections. Surprisingly, even without egg stimulation, she was still able to retrieve 15 eggs, of which 7 good quality day 5 embryos were created.
Ms. D. was transferred the best embryo in that cycle and got pregnant on the first try. In June this year, she gave birth to a completely healthy baby boy weighing 3.1 kg.
Ms. NTMD, 31 years old, in Binh Phuoc has been married for 2 years but has not had any good news. When going to the doctor, D. was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) - the reason why natural ovulation is very difficult to occur.
Previously, D. had done IUI (intrauterine insemination) once but it was not successful. The couple was young and their financial situation was not good, so continuing with IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment was something that D. was always hesitant about.

When coming to My Duc Phu Nhuan Reproductive Support Unit, D. was consulted by a doctor about the Saigon protocol - a method that does not require ovulation-stimulating injections, helping to significantly reduce costs and risks.
The result was beyond expectations. Ms. D. did not receive any injections, but when aspirating, the doctors were able to aspirate 19 eggs, of which 4 embryos were created on day 5. D. transferred 1 fresh embryo on day 5 and gave birth to a healthy baby. Currently, there are still 3 embryos from day 5 frozen for future use.
Dr. Le Khac Tien, Deputy Head of the My Duc Phu Nhuan IVF Unit, shared that the Saigon protocol has become a “new door” opening hope for the seemingly closed journey of pregnant women. The Saigon protocol not only brings hope to young women with PCOS, but is also a safe and effective solution for older people who have been treated many times without success, and can still achieve good results without the need for ovulation-stimulating drugs.
New scientific achievements in infertility treatment
“Saigon Protocol” - a new infertility treatment protocol researched and developed by the My Duc IVF team, based on the world's recent discoveries on in vitro fertilization without ovarian stimulation is a new scientific achievement just announced by the My Duc IVF Reproductive Support Unit (IVFMD).
The results of this new treatment regimen have been published in the international journal Fertility & Sterility - the official journal of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. This regimen was also introduced at the Asia CORE 2025 Regional Conference held in Bali (Indonesia), along with many other international scientific conferences, marking an important step forward for the Vietnamese reproductive support profession on the global reproductive support map.

The Saigon protocol is built on the basis of the "American-German IVM" technique (in vitro fertilization without ovarian stimulation) but is more innovative with the process: Endometrial preparation; aspiration of immature oocytes, extracorporeal maturation; fertilization; fresh embryo transfer in the same cycle.
The combination of the advantages of the “American-German IVM” technique with fresh embryo transfer creates a “revolution” for the Saigon Protocol, and at the same time brings many outstanding advantages compared to the traditional frozen embryo transfer IVF that is popular today.
This regimen helps women reduce about 30% of the cost of ovarian stimulation drugs, no need to freeze and transfer frozen embryos; no pain due to no injections; eliminates the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation; shortens treatment time with a single cycle for both fresh embryo aspiration and transfer.
This protocol helps to improve the quality of embryos and endometrium. The endometrium is not affected by too many hormones, the embryo is not affected by freezing-thawing, the vitality of the embryo is improved, thereby increasing the success rate.
The Saigon protocol is suitable for the following patient groups: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS); women with a high response rate (AFC > 15 follicles) or AMH ≥ 4 ng/mL; women with Gonadotropin-resistant ovarian syndrome (GROS); women with normal or good ovarian reserve who want to undergo IVF treatment in a simple, user-friendly way.
Dr. Le Khac Tien, Deputy Head of My Duc Phu Nhuan IVF Unit, shared: "With the Saigon protocol, we hope to bring another safe, friendly, and effective infertility treatment option equivalent to traditional IVF, for cases with appropriate indications."
The Saigon protocol has been officially applied at IVF My Duc (Tan Binh) and IVF My Duc Phu Nhuan since June 2025. As of October 2025, more than 180 treatments have been performed at IVF My Duc, recording positive results with a success rate equivalent to current IVF protocols.
