In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that the project belongs to the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period.

The project clearly demonstrates the Party and State's viewpoints and policies on investing in and preserving the cultural values of ethnic minorities; creating important resources for this work, while gradually turning culture into an economic driving force. Instead of just stopping at preserving and conserving, the culture of ethnic minorities is gradually being transformed into unique tourism products. This creates livelihoods, increases income and improves the quality of life for the people.

At the conference, delegates presented papers and shared the positive results achieved from the project, while pointing out the shortcomings and limitations. They proposed specific solutions to continue preserving and promoting traditional cultural values associated with tourism, as well as orienting tourism development in the coming time.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province Ho Van Muoi said that with the advantage of the largest area in the country, diverse terrain and rich ethnic culture, Lam Dong identified three pillars of socio-economic development, including cultural development and tourism.

The locality hopes that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to support and accompany to turn the cultural heritage treasure into unique tourism products, creating momentum for night-time economic development, large-scale festivals, connecting the community and attracting domestic and foreign tourists.

The project “Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development” has 19 component tasks. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the Department of Ethnic Minority Culture and 18 affiliated units to organize the preservation of 15 traditional festivals; build 36 models of preserving ethnic minority culture; organize more than 40 training courses, professional development and teaching of intangible culture; support the establishment of 150 community bookcases in communes of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 16 provinces.

The project has also provided funding to renovate and upgrade 69 destinations to improve service quality; invested in the construction of 48 traditional cultural villages and hamlets; 3,220 cultural houses and sports areas in ethnic minority villages and hamlets were newly built or repaired; 48 typical cultural villages and hamlets were renovated; 29 special national relics were supported; 695 folk cultural activity clubs and 5,760 traditional art troupes were established in villages and hamlets.
The project not only preserves cultural identity but also promotes tourism investment, contributes to changing community awareness and enriches spiritual life in areas with a high concentration of ethnic minorities.
