This morning (October 13), the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Ha Tinh province, period 2025-2030, officially opened its session, with the participation of more than 500 delegates, including 100 typical honored individuals. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended and directed the Congress.

The 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress is an important political event, a festival honoring the patriotism, self-reliance, and aspiration of the entire political system and people of Ha Tinh in the process of innovation, construction and development of the homeland.

Over the past 5 years (2020-2025), despite many difficulties and challenges, with the high determination of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the Fatherland Front, organizations at all levels and the people, Ha Tinh has overcome difficulties and challenges, promoted patriotic emulation movements, successfully implemented the set targets and tasks and achieved comprehensive results.

Emulation movements were deployed extensively, synchronously and effectively, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the province's socio -economic development goals; the economic growth rate reached an average of 6.4%/year, the economic scale increased 1.5 times; GRDP per capita reached 94 million VND.

Ha Tinh has become a bright spot in the peak emulation campaign "500 days and nights to complete 3,000km of highway", starting many key industrial, energy and infrastructure projects; emulation movements "Ha Tinh joins hands to build new countryside", "eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", "For the poor - No one is left behind"...

The province has met 8/8 requirements for the province to complete the task of building new rural areas; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved; the poverty rate has decreased to about 1.9%, an average decrease of 0.65%/year; the goal of no longer having meritorious people in poor households has been achieved; the whole province has completed 2,281 houses in the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, exceeding the progress assigned by the Central Government.

From the patriotic emulation movements, many outstanding collectives and individuals, many advanced models in various fields and in social life, have emerged. In the past 5 years, the whole province has had 4,846 advanced models honored at the grassroots advanced model conferences (1,128 collectives, 3,718 individuals); the province has also presented State-level commendation to nearly 900 collectives and individuals; provincial-level commendation to more than 11,500 collectives and individuals.

Speaking at the Congress, Ha Tinh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam emphasized that over the past 5 years, in the context of many unprecedented difficulties, challenges, natural disasters and epidemics; many new policies with high requirements were urgently implemented in a short time; however, with the spirit of solidarity and high determination, the entire Party Committee, government, armed forces, business community and people of the province have strived to overcome difficulties, achieving many important and comprehensive achievements in all fields.

The Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee also frankly acknowledged that the emulation and reward work still has some limitations and shortcomings. Some emulation movements are not really extensive, are still formal, and are not closely linked to the political tasks and characteristics of each sector, locality, and unit. The work of discovering, fostering, summarizing, and replicating advanced models, although being paid attention to, is not regular, and has not created a strong spread in society.

“Patriotic emulation movements need to continue to be strongly aroused, becoming widespread action movements, a great source of encouragement and motivation, contributing to promoting the strength of great national unity, unlocking resources, promoting innovation and creativity, creating new motivation to successfully implement the goals, targets and tasks set out by the 20th Provincial Party Congress”, said the Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice President, First Vice President of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan commended the outstanding and comprehensive achievements in economic and social development and the results and achievements in emulation and reward work of Ha Tinh province in the past 5 years; congratulated the efforts, initiatives and outstanding achievements of collectives and individuals, typical and advanced models.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that emulation and reward work should continue to be strongly innovated, becoming an important driving force for development.

On the basis of thoroughly grasping Ho Chi Minh's thought and the Party's policies and resolutions on patriotic emulation, Ha Tinh needs to promote the role, results and achievements of emulation and reward work in the previous period, closely linking the emulation movement with the political tasks of the locality, unit and new trends so that the movement is substantive, deeply permeates social life and brings about practical results.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented gifts from the Vietnam Children's Fund's Sponsoring Council to disadvantaged children in Ha Tinh worth 200 million VND.

Rewarding work must be for the right people, the right job, and in a timely manner, with priority given to groups and individuals directly working and producing in difficult fields and locations.

Strengthening the staff in charge of emulation and rewards; applying information technology in management to reduce time and effort, and improve operational efficiency. Emulation and rewards must arouse the right source, which is belief, aspiration, pride, and the good values ​​of the land and people of Ha Tinh, creating great strength for the development process.
