Women in the Army embellish the tradition and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers"

Affirming that women in the Army are always an inseparable part of the revolutionary armed forces, General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, acknowledged and commended the results that women in the Army have achieved in recent times.

On the afternoon of October 15, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army held a ceremony to honor typical advanced women in the Army for the 2020-2025 period.

Attending the ceremony were General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Member of the Party Central Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the Ministry of National Defense ; Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Minh Huong; representatives of the leaders of the General Staff, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, specialized women's officers of units under the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, along with 63 collectives and 175 typical advanced individuals, representing more than 2,000 collectives of women's associations and more than 90,000 women's members of the Army.

Over the past 5 years, the emulation movement and the work of building and promoting advanced models among women in the Army have developed in both breadth and depth, maintained regularly and continuously, creating a widespread influence. The movement is always closely linked with emulation movements, campaigns and emulation movements to win of the entire army, creating great motivation, attracting a large number and encouraging all cadres and members to enthusiastically compete to complete well and excellently the assigned tasks.

Up to now, nearly 90% of female cadres and members of the Army have met the three criteria of the emulation movement "Women of the Army with intelligence and courage, completing their tasks well, building happy families, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era" and are qualified to be recommended by leaders at all levels to be awarded the titles of "Excellent Association Cadre", "Advanced Women Association Member", "Excellent Women Cadre/Member" and "Outstanding Outstanding Women Cadre/Member". More than 98% of women's union members' families have met the criteria of the Movement to Build Families of "5 No's, 3 Clean", "5 Yes's, 3 Clean" and achieved the title of "Cultured Family".

Over the past 5 years, 1 individual was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; 3 collectives and 4 female individuals of the Army were awarded the Vietnam Women's Award; 1 individual was awarded the Nguyen Thi Dinh Award; 3 female soldiers were awarded the title of Associate Professor, 10 female soldiers were awarded the title of People's Artist, 19 female soldiers were awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, 5 female soldiers were awarded the title of Meritorious Teacher, 15 female soldiers were awarded the title of Meritorious Doctor; 588 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Director of the General Department of Politics and thousands of female individuals were awarded the title of "Outstanding Female Cadre", "Outstanding Female Union Member".

The Military Women's Committee was honored to receive the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal (2023) and the Vietnam Women's Award (2024) from the Party and State; and for 5 consecutive years, it was awarded the Emulation Flag for Excellent Unit by the General Department of Politics and the Central Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Women in the Army have actively implemented movements, programs, and national goals on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, and economic development, creating a widespread influence throughout the army and society. Programs such as: "Women in the Army accompany women in the border areas", "Soldiers' mothers sponsor", "Women in the Army give wings to dreams", "Women in the Army spread love", etc. have left many impressions and have had a strong influence.

Attending and speaking at the commendation program, General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army acknowledged and commended the efforts and results that women in the Army have achieved in recent times.

General Trinh Van Quyet affirmed that over the past 80 years, women in the Army have always been an inseparable part of the revolutionary armed forces - loyal soldiers, mothers, wives, and comrades who are loyal and kind, contributing to beautifying the tradition and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers".

Currently, with more than 20% of the total military force, military women have been taking on important roles in almost all fields of work, including those with special characteristics, requiring high levels of expertise, professional skills, physical strength and political courage. In new, difficult fields requiring high levels of expertise, military women continue to affirm their intelligence, courage, creativity and desire to contribute.

In order to further promote the role of women in the Army in the coming time, General Trinh Van Quyet requested the entire army to focus on leading and directing serious and synchronous implementation, ensuring unity between the goal of gender equality and the requirements of military and defense tasks; creating an environment and conditions for women in the Army to develop comprehensively, have equal opportunities to contribute and advance; build families of officers and soldiers that are truly loving homes, sustainable foundations of society and solid rear of the Army.

Agencies and units also need to proactively build the image of "Outstanding Military Women in the period of digital transformation and international integration", with steadfastness, creative thinking, integration capacity, truly a shining example of qualities, intelligence, culture, discipline, contributing to building an exemplary, healthy, and united military cultural environment.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission, the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, General Trinh Van Quyet expressed his belief that the emulation movement of women in the Army in the new period will have stronger and more comprehensive development steps, with more and more typical and excellent examples appearing, contributing to building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army, building a strong and modern all-people national defense, firmly protecting the Fatherland.

At the commendation program, 63 exemplary collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; 175 typical advanced individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army for their outstanding contributions in the 2020-2025 period.
