The world's most prestigious travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler (CN Traveler), of the United States, has announced this year's Readers' Choice Awards 2025. This is the 38th year the award has been held and is also considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world's tourism industry, with independent assessments from experts and reporters, based on strict criteria, and with voting participation from readers around the world.

Phu Quoc is the only representative of Vietnam to appear in the list of “World’s Best Islands”, with a score of 95.51, up from last year and rising to the top of the list of representatives from Asia. This score is based on the level of satisfaction with the destination, on many different criteria, from service quality, scenery, beauty of beaches, unique cuisine to hospitality.

The paradise-like beauty of beaches, such as Bai Kem, makes Phu Quoc increasingly popular with international visitors.

The impressive score also brought the Pearl Island to the 3rd place globally, just behind 2 islands from the US, far surpassing other famous names such as Maldives (92.31 points), Maui of Hawaii (93.35 points), Bali (89.84 points) or Phuket (84.62 points). Phu Quoc is only 0.01 point behind the 2nd place, Kiawah Island of the US.

This is considered a spectacular achievement of Phu Quoc and also the 4th consecutive year that the Pearl Island has appeared in the rankings, with its score and ranking position increasing dramatically each year. Last year, Phu Quoc ranked 2nd in Asia, after Bali.

This year, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort – Sun Group 's resort in Bai Kem, Phu Quoc – was also honored in the top best resorts on the planet of this award.

Not only CN Traveler, a series of international travel newspapers have also reported extensively on Phu Quoc in recent times. Forbes Italia called it “the new destination of Asia’s elite”, Straits Times called Phu Quoc “the paradise island of Vietnam”. If 2024 is considered the year that Phu Quoc transforms from a “hidden gem” of Southeast Asia to a global destination, then 2025 will continue to mark the rapid development of the Pearl Island on the world tourism map.

The prestige and brand recognition of Phu Quoc on the international map are not only proven through awards, but also through telling numbers. According to the An Giang Department of Tourism, after 9 months of 2025, the number of international visitors to Phu Quoc reached over 1.2 million, an increase of 65.8% over the same period and exceeding the yearly plan by 2.1%.
