An Phu Ward (HCMC): Mobilizing people to plant trees and dismantle illegal constructions

On the morning of October 10, An Phu ward (HCMC) organized a campaign to restore urban order and mobilize people to plant trees, to welcome the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term and to demonstrate the determination to build An Phu ward green - clean - beautiful - civilized - affectionate.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau, Chairman of An Phu Ward People's Committee, said that after the arrangement, An Phu Ward has a natural area of ​​16.851 ^km2 and a population of 162,930 people.

An Phu Ward has a rapid urbanization rate; it is home to many residential areas, apartment buildings, businesses and services. This has posed many challenges in urban management, ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation and urban civilization.

In fact, on some streets in the ward, there is still encroachment on sidewalks and roads for trading, parking, and illegal billboards. Along with that, there is the situation of household waste and construction materials being collected in the wrong places, causing loss of aesthetics and potential traffic safety risks.

Local leaders expect this campaign, with the main force being the police, to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to propagate and mobilize to raise people's awareness, contributing to urban beautification in the ward.

After the launching ceremony, the working groups went to a number of streets to clean up and mobilize people to remove the extensions encroaching on the sidewalk.

An Phu ward authorities mobilized traders on Thuan An Hoa street not to encroach on sidewalks and to dismantle extensions.

Previously, An Phu ward organized “Civilized Saturday”, “Green Sunday” to clean the environment in the ward; organized the launching ceremony of “Peak day to remove illegal advertising products”. These activities attracted more than 300 participants, aiming to promote the effectiveness of urban beautification work.
