Ms. Phuong Thao, a tourist from Phan Thiet, said that every time she visited Da Lat, she always stopped by the night market, Hoa Binh area and bought souvenirs at these kiosks. Therefore, when she heard that these kiosks had to be dismantled, she felt regretful.
"I don't know what the local government will do next, but as a tourist, I feel sorry that there are no more souvenir kiosks, which have become one of the "specialties" of Da Lat," said Ms. Thao.
Similarly, on social networking forums, people also expressed regret when these kiosks were completely dismantled and no longer operated.
According to Tuoi Tre Online , all the bricks and stones used to build the kiosks have been removed, leaving the sidewalks clean and pedestrians walking leisurely. There are only traces of the sand and stone floors of the kiosks, with occasional motorbikes parked here and there.
Vice Chairman of Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee - Da Lat Nguyen Ngoc Hau said that these kiosks were previously managed by the People's Committee of Da Lat City (old). The locality had rented them to individuals and businesses to sell woolen goods and souvenirs.
After a long period of management, both the aesthetics and planning here are no longer suitable; at the same time, the lease contract between the State and the businesses has ended.
"In Hoa Binh area, any land that is leased must be returned to the State to be used for another purpose," said Mr. Hau.

According to Mr. Hau, the wool market kiosk area is currently in the urban beautification phase.
After the People's Committee of Da Lat City no longer exists, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat is the agency that takes over management of this area and proceeds to dismantle the kiosks.
"The purpose of dismantling these kiosks is to beautify the urban area, to make it more beautiful, in line with the planning, and no longer messy. After dismantling, the ward will plant flowers for the public and tourists to admire," Mr. Hau added.
