Ba Dinh Ward practices fire fighting and rescue at the residential area

On the morning of October 10, the People's Committee of Ba Dinh Ward organized a fire fighting and rescue plan drill for 2025 at the apartment complex 101-103 Nguyen Truong To.

Hypothetical situation, at 9am a fire broke out in an apartment on the 2nd floor of the 101-103 Nguyen Truong To apartment complex. With the main combustible materials being synthetic plastic, wood, fabric... the fire developed very quickly, flames and toxic smoke covered the area densely. The high heat of the fire began to heat up the building components, causing them to lose their load-bearing capacity and possibly collapse, endangering people.

On the 2nd floor of the 101-103 Nguyen Truong To apartment complex, there were about 6 people in the rooms. During the initial escape, due to panic and the large amount of smoke and toxic gas, 2 victims were trapped on the roof of the 2nd floor, and 1 victim was trapped in the room and could not escape through the main door.

Discovering smoke and fire, people shouted to everyone around, called the fire alarm, the Ward People's Committee used portable fire extinguishers to initially put out the fire. After receiving the fire alarm, Ba Dinh Ward Police quickly mobilized officers, soldiers and fire pumps to the scene to put out the fire, ensuring security and order.

After nearly 30 minutes, the simulated fire was controlled and completely extinguished, all victims were safely rescued.

The practice session was carefully prepared and carried out absolutely seriously, safely, and in accordance with the requirements and techniques. The fire prevention and fighting force at the facility operated skillfully, quickly, and coordinated well and smoothly with the ward police force.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Viet Dung, Deputy Head of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 8 (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police) assessed that the success of the exercise contributed to raising awareness of fire prevention and fighting among the people as well as improving the skills of the fire prevention and fighting force at the facility; building escape skills when a fire or explosion occurs, while enhancing the ability to be on standby, ready to respond and handle fire, explosion and rescue situations of the on-site fire prevention and fighting force of Ba Dinh ward.
