According to Anadolu on October 8, French news television station BFMTV reported that the Office of the French National Assembly rejected the proposal to impeach President Macron, saying this was "unacceptable".
The impeachment motion was submitted by lawmakers from the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party and several Green Party deputies, accusing Mr Macron of being responsible for the country's ongoing political crisis.

However, the proposal did not pass the first step in the process at the French National Assembly's Secretariat, which approves or rejects any impeachment attempt before the process takes place.
LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard said left-wing lawmakers voted in favor of the proposal, while deputies from Mr. Macron’s Renaissance Party and the conservative Republicans voted against. Lawmakers from the far-right National Rally abstained.

Earlier in the year, 104 opposition lawmakers called for President Macron's impeachment, blaming him for a deepening political crisis sparked by his decision to dissolve Parliament and call early elections in 2024.
The political deadlock following the snap election has led to a series of government crises, with France having gone through three prime ministers in the past year. Most recently, Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu resigned on October 6 amid continued unrest.
