The Buon Ho Town Wastewater Treatment System Project is assigned to the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board (Board B) as the investor. The project has a total investment of over VND 241.36 billion, with non-refundable ODA capital from KOICA supporting about VND 223 billion and counterpart capital from the provincial budget about VND 18.28 billion.

The project has a scale of investment in building a wastewater collection system separate from the rainwater drainage system in the central areas of Buon Ho town (old), then leading to a centralized wastewater treatment plant to treat it to the permitted standards before discharging it into the environment. In which, the household drainage connection pipeline, with a total pipe length of about 37.9km; the main and branch collection pipeline, with a total pipe length of about 30km; 1 centralized wastewater treatment plant, with a capacity of about 1,500m3/day and night and auxiliary works.
The project aims to collect wastewater from households, businesses, agencies, and schools in the old Buon Ho town, with about 2,900 households connected and directly benefiting from the project (by 2032). The system aims to minimize negative impacts on people's health and reduce environmental pollution; help fundamentally improve the urban living environment, improve people's health, and contribute to sustainable economic development in the old Buon Ho town.

Mr. Jung Jaewoo, Deputy Country Director, KOICA Vietnam Office, said: The project has been approved by the Korean Government ; at the same time, he committed to always accompany and support the project to be implemented quickly and effectively. In the context that Dak Lak province and the whole country have just merged the province and the two-level local government, Mr. Jung Jaewoo hopes that the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches will review changes in administrative boundaries, supplement necessary procedures; and propose a capital plan for each stage.

At the meeting, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van acknowledged and thanked KOICA for its support and cooperation in promoting the Project's implementation. Comrade Nguyen Thien Van assigned the People's Committee of Buon Ho Ward to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to review the Project's implementation procedures, with the general policy of not changing the Project's objectives and scale. He requested relevant units and localities to speed up the necessary procedures to speed up the project's commencement and implementation progress.
