Upcoming Da Nang Free Trade Zone Forum - New driving force for logistics industry

On November 14, the People's Committee of Da Nang City will organize the Forum "Da Nang Free Trade Zone - New driving force for logistics development". The event aims to introduce the potential for logistics development through the free trade zone model in Da Nang, promote investment attraction and strengthen business connections.

At the Forum, businesses will have the opportunity to display and introduce products and services in the logistics sector. The event is expected to attract about 350 to 400 guests including representatives of central ministries and branches, international organizations, investment funds, industry associations and domestic and international transportation, seaport and warehouse enterprises...

Da Nang strives to become a logistics center in the Central region.

The forum will focus on discussions on building the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, learning models from other countries and researching their application in Da Nang, while aiming to turn the city into an international logistics center and a regional manufacturing and trade center.

This event is one of the activities to implement the project "Developing logistics services in Da Nang", linking with the key economic zone of the Central region and the East-West Economic Corridor until 2050 according to Decision No. 940/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued on May 9, 2023.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also signed Decision No. 1088/QD-TTg, assigning tasks to implement Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organization of urban government and application of special mechanisms and policies in Da Nang. The Decision requires the People's Committee of Da Nang City to complete the Project to establish a Free Trade Zone in December 2024, then submit it to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for appraisal before submitting it to the Prime Minister for approval.
