Organizing many charitable activities in Con Dao special zone

On October 8, the working delegation of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command organized many practical and meaningful social security activities and worked in Con Dao special zone.

Accordingly, the delegation held an incense and flower offering ceremony at Hang Duong Cemetery - the resting place of thousands of heroes, martyrs and patriots who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 3 Command and the working delegation presented national flags and necessities to fishermen in Con Dao.

Next, the delegation visited and worked with the leaders of the special zone. On this occasion, the localities of Vinh Long, Dong Thap , Ho Chi Minh City and the units presented gifts to the local authorities, armed forces, policy families, students in difficult circumstances and fishermen in Con Dao special zone (with a total value of gifts of 280 million VND and 1 ton of rice).

Also within the framework of the visit, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 also organized the presentation of national flags, life jackets and many necessities to fishermen of fishing vessels operating in Con Dao waters; propagandized, inspected and guided fishermen to comply with legal regulations on preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command visited, encouraged and propagated regulations on IUU prevention and control to fishermen in Con Dao.

The delegation's activities contributed to strengthening the coordination between the Coast Guard with the government, people and forces stationed in Con Dao; at the same time, demonstrating the affection and responsibility of officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command towards policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances in the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.

The working delegation presented gifts to policy families and poor but studious students in the Con Dao special zone.

According to the plan, after finishing the visit and working in Con Dao special zone, the working delegation will continue their survey journey to grasp the situation of the sea and islands in the South; and combine to organize inspection and control of vehicles operating at sea.
