Serious landslide on Am river bank

According to the reporter's records, at the location of the Am River flowing through Chu village, there are 2 large landslides, creating deep holes, some of which have reached into people's farming areas, about 50m wide, nearly 1,000m long, about 15m from the internal road.

Worryingly, in many places the flow forms an arc, flows rapidly, and the risk of further landslides is very high.

Mr. Ha Dinh Manh, a resident of Chu village, Phung Minh commune, said: "For more than a month now, the Am river bank flowing through the area has been seriously eroded, causing loss of agricultural land. If there are no timely remedial measures, the erosion will become more serious. I and the households with farming land here are very worried and insecure."

Serious landslide on Am river bank

According to Ms. Le Thi Tan, Vice Chairwoman of Phung Minh Commune People's Committee, every year, the village and commune survey and assess the landslide situation and come up with a plan to overcome it. However, in recent times, the landslide situation along the Am River has become more complicated and serious. Up to now, more than 7 hectares of crops of Chu village people have been submerged, causing damage to the people up to billions of dong.

Faced with the above situation, in addition to implementing initial response measures and informing people not to cultivate near landslide areas, local authorities have also reported to superiors for early response plans.
