An Giang Provincial Department of Science and Technology attended the Vietnam Science and Technology Festival online on May 18.

On the afternoon of May 16, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of An Giang province connected to an online television bridge at the Department's Hall to attend the Vietnam Science and Technology Festival on May 18, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, at the same time with 62 local bridges across the country.

At the An Giang bridge, there were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Department, Mr. Phan Van Kien - Deputy Director of the Department and representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of specialized departments and affiliated centers. In addition, the event also had the participation of representatives of An Giang University, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, and units of An Giang Telecommunications, Viettel An Giang and Mobifone An Giang.

This year's program has the theme " Science , technology, innovation and digital transformation: Breakthroughs to bring the country into a rich and prosperous era" and is broadcast live on Vietnamnet and VnExpress to spread the spirit of innovation to the public.

In his opening speech at the central bridge, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung called on the scientific community to "dream big", proactively solve the country's strategic problems and quickly move from the laboratory to the market, using results as a measure of scientific value. He emphasized that Vietnam has met all the conditions - "the dream is big, the work is big enough, difficult enough and there are resources" - to attract global knowledge to accompany development.

At the An Giang bridge, delegates focused on monitoring the entire program, recording experiences in innovation management, intellectual property and digital transformation; thereby determining priority orientations in line with the potential and socio-economic development needs of the locality.

Developing science, technology and innovation is considered the core driving force to help An Giang improve productivity, quality and competitiveness of key economic sectors, while accelerating the digital transformation process, building digital government and digital economy; this is the solid foundation for the province to develop green and sustainably, towards becoming the innovation center of the Mekong Delta./.
