The Department of Science and Technology of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces agreed on a plan to prepare for the merger.

On the afternoon of May 26, in Long Xuyen city, the Department of Science and Technology of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces held a working conference to agree on a plan to merge the organizations after the two localities merged according to the Central Government's policy.

At the Conference, leaders of the two Departments exchanged, shared information and gave comments on the draft Project on organizational structure after the merger. The discussion focused on arranging the organizational structure, specialized departments and staff in a streamlined, efficient manner, suitable for new functions and tasks. The comments were recorded to continue perfecting the Project, ensuring feasibility before submitting to competent authorities for consideration and approval.

The total number of civil servants, public employees and workers after the reorganization is 101 people (not including the number of civil servants without payroll and labor contracts at public service units). The main office is expected to be located at 320 Ngo Quyen, Vinh Lac ward, Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province.

At the meeting, the two sides actively discussed many key issues, aiming to build a suitable organizational model after the merger, ensuring stable and effective operations and good implementation of state management functions in the field of science and technology. The Department of Science and Technology of Kien Giang province will continue to complete the plan and submit it to the competent authority for approval according to regulations.

The merger plan is built on the spirit of streamlining the apparatus organization in a streamlined and rational direction, improving effectiveness and efficiency, and at the same time meeting the requirements of advising the Provincial People's Committee in multi-sectoral and multi-field state management. The restructuring of the organization also aims to improve the quality of civil servants and public employees, in line with the development requirements in the new period.

Also at the Conference, comrade Le Quoc Cuong - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of An Giang province - presented the commemorative stamp "200 years of completion of Vinh Te canal" to comrade Vo Minh Trung - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Kien Giang province. The gift has a special meaning, expressing the close affection, solidarity and cultural - historical exchange between the two localities.
