Enthusiastic patriotic emulation movement among workers, civil servants and laborers

Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's thought that "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", Can Tho City's trade unions at all levels focus on launching patriotic emulation movements among cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and laborers. Thereby, it has encouraged and enhanced the sense of responsibility of cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in production, built a positive working environment, and contributed to the successful completion of socio-economic targets of the locality and unit.

In Can Tho City, the emulation movements of "Good workers" and "Creative workers" have been promoted in many forms, encouraging workers, civil servants, and laborers to strive to study and work in production. In the period of 2020-2025, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the city registered and implemented over 56,000 topics, solutions, and technical innovation initiatives with a total value of nearly 1,500 billion VND, estimated to benefit the State over 46.3 billion VND.

The initiative and solution "Design and construction of a cold storage model using a cascade cycle" by the group of authors of the Trade Union of Can Tho Vocational College has just been honored to receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Mr. Tran Thanh Tu, lecturer of Can Tho Vocational College, representative of the group of authors, said: "The group of authors relied on the schematic diagram of the refrigeration system using a cascade cycle to successfully design and construct a complete model, capable of practical operation and reaching deep negative temperatures (-43 degrees Celsius). The model is designed to be compact, safe, easy to operate and suitable for teaching the professions of refrigeration equipment operation and repair, refrigeration and air conditioning engineering, industrial electricity". The group of authors also built and compiled 11 in-depth practice exercises associated with the model; flexibly combining theory and practice through a system of scientifically designed exercises; Contribute to innovating teaching methods, creating a learning environment that is intuitive, modern and close to the practical requirements of businesses.

Building a strong trade union organization is one of the key and regular emulation movements of the city's trade union. Over the past 5 years, Can Tho City's trade union at all levels has given nearly 675,930 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of over 325.27 billion VND on the occasion of "Tet Sum Vay" and "Tet Dong Market"; given over 393,700 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, those who have had work-related accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, etc. during the annual "Worker's Month"; built and repaired over 1,090 trade union shelters; given over 21,390 scholarships to children of union members in difficult circumstances, etc. The city's trade union also organized 250 training courses to foster trade union skills; trade union at all levels introduced over 16,970 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, training, and admission.

Emulation movements to build loyal, responsible, honest, creative cadres and civil servants; good consultants, good service; higher productivity, better quality; innovation, creativity, efficiency in trade union activities; green - clean - beautiful movements, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, culture, sports , good at public affairs, good at housework... achieved high results.

Looking back over the past 5 years, it can be seen that the implementation of emulation movements has contributed to encouraging and motivating union members, workers, civil servants and laborers to strive to complete their assigned tasks well. In the period of 2020-2025, 144 collectives and 408 individuals received certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 107 individuals received the Creative Labor certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 863 individuals received the "For the cause of building trade union organizations" commemorative medal; 1,593 collectives and 4,063 individuals received certificates of merit from the Can Tho City Labor Federation. Notably, 1 collective received the First Class Labor Medal, 1 individual received the Third Class Labor Medal and 1 collective received the Emulation Flag of the Government.

According to the leaders of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, in the coming time, the city's trade unions at all levels will continue to promote patriotic emulation movements; concretize emulation movements in accordance with the actual conditions of the locality and unit. At the same time, mobilize union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to actively, dynamically, and creatively implement the digital transformation program; promote initiatives and technical improvements; promote research and application of scientific and technological advances in production. Innovate the content, form, and method of organizing patriotic emulation movements; encourage businesses and laborers to unite, share, and be creative in labor production, contributing to stabilizing production and ensuring jobs and income for laborers;...
