According to the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, fisheries is a key economic sector, making an important contribution to the national economy. In recent years, the country's fisheries output has reached more than 9 million tons/year, with export turnover reaching 9-10 billion USD/year. Fishery products have been exported to more than 100 countries and territories around the world. The fisheries industry still has a lot of potential and opportunities for development, but the challenges are also great due to the impact of climate change and the increasingly high standards and quality requirements of export markets, requiring production to be "green, clean" and environmentally friendly...
At the dialogue, specialized agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, GIZ and related institutes, schools and units updated and provided information on the development of aquaculture in the world, challenges and opportunities in aquaculture and seafood export. Orientations and solutions for sustainable aquaculture production, especially the application of science and technology, innovation and circular economy in aquaculture.

Many delegates said that in order for the aquaculture industry to make a breakthrough, it is necessary to promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation and innovation throughout the value chain. Pay attention to sustainable and responsible aquaculture, apply high technology and automation, and diversify products. Make good use of by-products and resources and develop deep processing to create high added value.
