- Storm No. 11 (MatMo) passed and the impact of the circulation caused prolonged heavy rain, many areas in Huu Lung district (old), Lang Son province were deeply flooded, causing heavy damage to property and seriously affecting people's lives. In that difficult situation, many volunteer organizations quickly appeared, bringing both material and spiritual support, helping people in the flooded areas to gradually overcome the disaster and stabilize their lives.

According to the reporter's records, although storm No. 11 has passed, mud is still thick on the roads of Yen Binh, Van Nham, Huu Lung communes..., many houses and properties are damaged, especially hundreds of motorbikes - essential vehicles of the people lying motionless after the flood. In the midst of that desolate scene, volunteer repairmen appeared, becoming "doctors" for damaged vehicles, bringing joy to people in the flooded areas.
Specifically, on October 12, 2025, at Minh Tien Primary - Secondary School, Van Nham Commune, Lang Son Province, a volunteer group with nearly 60 members of the Hanoi , Bac Ninh, Hung Yen Motorcycle Technical Association, and nearly 30 skilled mechanics from the Lang Son Motorcycle Technical Association gathered to repair and maintain motorbikes and electric bicycles for free for people in flooded areas. The members of the group brought along specialized tools and spare parts, ready to help people overcome the consequences. Hundreds of damaged vehicles were brought by people to the centralized repair point right on the school campus.
In sweat-soaked and muddy clothes, Mr. Do Van Sy, from Bac Ninh province, is diligently repairing and fixing flooded vehicles. He said: "After the flood, many vehicles are submerged in water and mud for many days, causing the entire electrical system and engine to be easily damaged. We try to handle the initial steps such as changing the oil, air filter, spark plugs, cleaning the engine so that the vehicle can start, helping people have a means of transportation. Vehicles with severe damage have to wait, because repairing takes a lot of time. Some vehicles have to have the entire engine disassembled to fix, but no matter how difficult it is, we try to fix them so that people can travel normally soon, contributing a small part to help people in difficult times."
After the oil was changed, the spark plugs were cleaned, and the mud was cleaned, each vehicle was started up again. The familiar “rumble” of the engine made everyone happy. The joy was evident on the faces of the people as they held the throttle again, heard the familiar sound of the vehicle, and the sound of daily life gradually revived.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a resident of Van Nham commune, emotionally said: "My car was flooded since the heavy rain on October 8th, I thought it was seriously damaged. I thought it would cost millions of dong to take it to a repair shop, and now my house is still a mess... Luckily, the mechanics came to the commune to repair the car for free, and the car started again, I'm so happy, I thank them very much."
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Hoang Viet Cao, Chairman of Lang Son Motorcycle Technical Association, said: "As a long-time mechanic, when I saw people's motorbikes submerged in water and unable to use due to floods, I felt very heartbroken and thought of doing something to help people in this difficult time. From there, I connected and thanks to the coordination between Hanoi Motorcycle Technical Association, BRT Vietnam Company, Lang Son Motorcycle Technical Association and motorcycle technical brothers from Hung Yen, Hanoi and Bac Ninh... to establish a volunteer team with a spirit of urgency, dedication and utmost effort to help people in flooded areas quickly restore their means of transportation, gradually stabilize their lives after the natural disaster. On October 12, 2025 alone, we repaired, cleaned, and replaced spare parts such as spark plugs, engine oil... for free for over 800 motorbikes of people in Van Nham and Yen Binh communes.
In the coming time, we will continue to call on philanthropists and benefactors to join hands in contributing manpower and resources... When we have the conditions, we will continue to go to other areas affected by natural disasters and floods to repair motorbikes for free for people."
It can be seen that these practical and sharing actions have contributed to spreading the strength of the community, helping people in flooded areas in Lang Son gradually overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Although a small act, it brings great meaning to the community, always ready to share and accompany people in difficult times.
