According to dealer sources, the Subaru Forester 2025 will arrive in Vietnam in early November 2025, and the car is expected to have only two versions instead of three as it is now. The car has an estimated price of 1.3 - 1.5 billion VND. Meanwhile, the current generation Forester is listed from 969 million to 1.199 billion VND.

Although still retaining the familiar design language, the 2025 Subaru Forester SUV has some tweaks to the grille, light clusters and front bumper for a more powerful, modern look. The headlights and taillights all use LED technology, and the wheels are 18 inches in size.

The list of exterior equipment of the new generation Subaru Forester in Southeast Asian markets shows that the car has an electric trunk, 360-degree camera and reverse sensor... these are all features that will likely appear on the version sold in Vietnam.

The 2025 Forester's cabin has been significantly upgraded with an 11.6-inch vertical center screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with standard wireless phone charging. The automatic climate control system is integrated directly on the screen, retaining only basic physical buttons for temperature and volume adjustment.

Notably, the front seats feature the Ergonomic Medical Seats design, developed by Subaru in collaboration with medical organizations in Japan, to help reduce fatigue on long journeys. The driver's seat is 10-way power adjustable, while the instrument cluster in front of the driver remains in the traditional analog form instead of switching to a completely digital screen.

Powering the 2025 Forester in Vietnam will likely be a 2.5L gasoline engine, similar to the version sold in Indonesia, producing 180 horsepower and 241 Nm of torque. This engine combines a CVT automatic transmission and Subaru's signature all-wheel drive (AWD).

Compared to the previous generation using a 2.0L engine (156 horsepower, 192 Nm), the new Forester is significantly more powerful, promising more flexible operation. However, unlike the US or Japanese markets, cars sold in Vietnam do not have a hybrid version, possibly to keep the price competitive and suitable for domestic conditions.

The 2025 Subaru Forester is still built on the Subaru Global Platform, but has been tweaked to increase rigidity by 10%, improving handling and body stability. The new electric power steering system is borrowed from the WRX sports sedan, providing more precise feedback when handling.
10-6011.jpg
In terms of safety equipment, the car still has the new generation Subaru EyeSight active safety package with a wide-angle camera supporting features such as: automatic pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, safe steering assist...
13-5343.jpg
The increase in the selling price of the Forester 2025 is partly due to the fact that the car will be imported completely from Japan, instead of Thailand as before. The Subaru assembly plant in Thailand has stopped operating, causing the supply to shift to Japan, which is not in the ASEAN bloc and therefore does not enjoy import tax incentives, leading to a significant increase in costs.
