Sun PhuQuoc Airways' first aircraft is an Airbus A321 NX, manufactured and delivered 100% new by Airbus from its factory in Hamburg (Germany).
This aircraft uses the new generation LEAP-1A engine, providing outstanding operating performance: up to 20% fuel savings, 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions and 75% noise reduction compared to the previous generation.
The ceremony to welcome the first flight also marked the milestone of launching the official identity image of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
According to plan, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will receive 8 modern aircraft and take off in 2025.
On the same day, August 10, the signing ceremony of the capital arrangement principle contract between Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Vietcombank took place.
Vietcombank will be the lead bank to arrange a credit package for the investment plan for the fleet owned by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, including 10 new generation Airbus A320/321 NEO aircraft.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to open ticket sales in October 2025 and operate its first commercial flight in November 2025.
On June 13, the Ministry of Construction granted an air transport business license to Sun Phu Quoc Company Limited, brand name Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is an airline brand invested and developed by Sun Group Corporation, with a total investment of 2,500 billion VND, allowed to exploit the traditional business model - full service - high quality, combined with a mixed charter flight model.
Taking Phu Quoc as the focal point, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will connect flights from Phu Quoc to major economic and tourist centers in the country such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other key cities.
Previously, the Prime Minister approved the investment policy of the project to establish Sun PhuQuoc Airways with an operating period of 50 years, an investment scale of 2,500 billion VND, of which the investor's capital contribution is 1,000 billion VND.
