Asia is a continent of islands, with more than 20,000 islands in Southeast Asia alone. The breathtaking variety of these paradises is scattered everywhere: on the continent’s largest island, Borneo, you can see wild orangutans; in Bali, you can immerse yourself in Hindu spirituality; or in Okinawa, you can experience the lives of centenarians. You could visit them all if you had the time, but you don’t have to – especially when British travel magazine Time Out has narrowed the list down to the 7 best islands to visit in Asia, with Vietnam in the top 3.
1.Borneo
Borneo, Asia's largest island, comprises Malaysian, Indonesian and Bruneian Borneo. Every part of the island is worth a visit for endless days of tropical adventure - jungle trekking , beach frolicking, underwater exploration... This is a particularly rewarding trip for wildlife enthusiasts, who are almost guaranteed to see endangered species such as orangutans, Borneo elephants and proboscis monkeys on the Kinabatangan River in eastern Sabah.
