The news that Mr. Luu Tu Bao (President of VBF) is involved in a legal case in the US has been causing a stir in public opinion for many hours. According to records from the Northern California District Court, Mr. Bao Tu Luu was arrested in California in April 2025 on charges of kidnapping and illegal detention.

The US court has received a request from Australia to extradite Mr. Bao to this country on charges of running a transnational criminal organization and intending to import cocaine into Australia. As of today (September 5), VBF planned to hold an extraordinary congress to elect new leaders to run the federation in the early afternoon but decided to postpone it until about 5:00 p.m. the same day to wait for Mr. Luu Tu Bao to send a video .
