Independence Day without a break at the North Expressway construction site

During the holidays of September 2 this year, the construction site of the North-South Expressway through Ha Tinh province was still bustling with the sound of machinery. Taking advantage of the last dry summer days before the rainy season, contractors have started construction simultaneously to speed up progress.

In the XL12 package of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project, the construction contractor Xuan Truong has undertaken. On the main route of the project, this unit has paved 8 km of C25 hollow asphalt and 8 km of C19 asphalt layer.

Worker Tran The Quang, who is constructing the hollow asphalt concrete section on the route, said that the weather is sunny so the unit is speeding up the construction items on the route. Every day, the unit works 3 shifts from morning to night, at noon the workers take the opportunity to eat, rest, then stay at the construction site to carry out their work.

Worker Nguyen Cong An said, everyone wants to go home to their families on holidays, however, the project is in a rush, we have to work day and night to meet the schedule. During holidays, we are supported with extra money by the company to encourage us.

According to the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Project Management Board, 53 construction teams with a total of 750 motorbikes and equipment are maintained on the route to keep up with production. Currently, the project's construction output has reached about 55% of the contract value, the average weekly output is about 80 billion VND, basically meeting the required progress.

The North-South Expressway project in the East through Ha Tinh has a total length of 107.32km with 4 component projects including: Dien Chau - Bai Vot section in the 2017-2020 period and Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung sections in the 2021-2025 period.

At the same time, the contractor is constructing the frontage road system, the return road system and the traffic safety system on the route.

At the construction site of the National Highway 12C intersection through Ky Anh district, the contractor for the project, Construction Joint Stock Company 368, is completing the final items to prepare for asphalt concrete paving.

Undertaking the construction of more than 22km of main route; 15 bridges; 2 interchanges in package 11XL of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi project, according to Vinaconex leaders, up to this point, the unit's output has reached 58% of the contract value, 5% faster than the signed contract.

"To encourage staff and workers to stay on site during the holidays, the unit has a salary and bonus system to encourage their spirit. We aim to have about 70% of the entire road paved with asphalt concrete by the end of 2024," said a Vinaconex leader.
