Coming to "Mid-Autumn Festival 2025: Fun with Children", children and their families have the opportunity to meet folk artisans in the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival space through familiar toys such as: lanterns, star lanterns, paper doctors, to he, papier-mâché masks, clay figurines, dough animals, etc. Children not only get to admire but also have the opportunity to learn how to make toys under the direct guidance of folk artisans.
In addition, visitors can also participate in games such as hopscotch, jump rope, stilt walking, tug of war, grapefruit rolling, and sapodilla seed hitting. These experiences not only have high educational significance but also create connections between generations in the family, arousing love for cultural heritage and creativity.

The Mid-Autumn atmosphere at the Museum is even more bustling with lion dances, lantern processions, and traditional water puppetry by the Dong Ngu puppet troupe (Bac Ninh). In addition, children can participate in many discovery activities such as listening to comic stories about the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival, transforming into child puppet characters, trying their hand puppetry skills, and painting Mid-Autumn-themed pictures...
In addition, children can also practice STEM activities to explore science through making lanterns, ships, and digital technology experiences such as virtual reality (VR), racing to find Mid-Autumn treasures through artifacts in the Museum, and have fun exploring the Mid-Autumn Festival tray. This is an opportunity for children to both play and learn, connecting the joy of discovery with folk cultural values and scientific knowledge.

A highlight of the program is the "Autumn Colors" installation art space, which opened on October 4, 2025 and will last until November 4, 2025. Here, the public has the opportunity to admire traditional toys of the elderly artisans who have been associated with the Museum for many years; restored and creative toys of some young people passionate about handicrafts. In this space, visitors have the opportunity to explore stories of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and artisans' association in preserving, creating and developing folk toys over the past three decades. The Museum's way of promoting the role of cultural subjects has created opportunities to revive many heritages, including folk toys.
Young people are interacting with "doctor AI"
The activities at the Museum have created opportunities for many generations of artisans to introduce the craft of making toys to a wide audience at home and abroad, motivating the passion for preserving and maintaining the craft. The artisans not only preserve the craft, but also pass it on to the younger generation to join hands in restoring forgotten traditional toy models, as well as creating new products to meet the needs of today's public. That journey has awakened the love of many generations for rustic toys with high educational value, contributing significantly to the protection of cultural heritage.
Also in this space, the program also brings an interesting experience, connecting heritage and digital technology through the experience with the AI Paper Doctor. Young people have the opportunity to chat and ask questions with the AI Paper Doctor to hear answers about the Mid-Autumn Festival. This is an activity that will bring new experiences to attract the Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations. Through the "Autumn Colors" space, the Museum hopes that the public, especially the young generation, will join together to spread the spirit of joining hands to protect the heritage of handicrafts, contribute to protecting the environment and honoring folk knowledge.
