This is the first time a high-level PPA Tour Australia tournament has been held in Vietnam. Therefore, this will be a great opportunity for the home players to compete with very strong opponents and thereby make an assessment of the level of Vietnamese pickleball after a short time of development. This tournament has contents such as professional, open, Masters (for players over 50 years old) and children under 16 years old.
Carmelina Beach Resort is ready for exciting matches
According to the registration list, strong Vietnamese tennis players such as Huynh Chi Khuong, Nguyen Anh Thang, Trinh Linh Giang and Truong Vinh Hien have all registered to compete with very strong opponents from Australia, the US, New Zealand and other countries from Asia. Notably, Vietnam's number 1 tennis player Ly Hoang Nam also has his first international pickleball tournament after a short training period. Two overseas Vietnamese tennis players Phuc Huynh and Marcel Chan also participated to create hope for the host country. In the Masters event, the brother and sister duo Ly Minh Triet and Ly Minh Tan also competed with 12 other pairs.
Tennis player Huynh Chi Khuong just won the men's singles championship in the 36-49 age group at the national club tournament.
At the 2024 PPA Tour Australia – Vietnam Open Pickleball Tournament, Vietnamese players will also get acquainted with the knockout matches with the format of 3 games and 2 points when the score is tied 10-10. On October 18, the exciting qualifying matches of the professional content will begin to take place to find more names to participate in the main round.
