According to the inspection and assessment of the Department of Construction and the functional branches of the province, due to the impact of storms No. 10 and 11, the section from km283+400 to km285+955 has landslides on the negative slope at km283+449.5 to km283+932.5, 483m long; the section from km284+38.00 to km284+566.00, 528m long; the section from km285+130.00 to km285+191.00, 61m long; the section from km285+552.00 to km285+627.00, 75m long; the total length is about 1,147m. The cause of the landslide is due to the geology on the negative slope of the roadbed being loose weathered soil and rock; The roadbed runs along the Lo River, under the impact of the recent flood, the water flows rapidly, many sections of the flow cross the roadbed causing erosion, some places have frog-jaw landslides, the negative slope of the roadbed has collapsed, many locations have sunk the roadside; some sections of soft guardrails have collapsed, hanging the foot of the columns, half of the road surface facing the river has cracks, slightly sunk in some locations.

On the positive side, from km285+015 to km285+355, the positive slope has a large landslide arc, pushing up the road surface, sidewalk, covering the longitudinal drainage ditch. Through preliminary assessment, the slope continues to have a tendency to slide towards the road surface, the positive slope has a large height of 30-50m, the geological layers have a surface inclined towards the road with a slope of over 45 degrees. Therefore, due to the impact of natural disasters, the pushing up phenomenon continues to occur.

Faced with incidents of landslides, deep whirlpools, and hanging soft guardrail posts, threatening the safety of the road, the Department of Construction has directed the road management unit to stretch ropes, barricades, install temporary warning signs at both ends of damaged sections, and assign guards; at roadside locations with subsidence, fill in and block road surface water from flowing into the subsidence, and direct the water toward the slope with culverts...

National Highway 2 is an important artery, the gateway to the former Ha Giang city and the northern highlands of Tuyen Quang province.
