Vietnam's stock market attracts Nasdaq's attention

On the afternoon of October 8, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang received Mr. Bob McCooey, Vice President and Director of International Listing Department, Nasdaq, on the occasion of his working trip to Vietnam.

At the reception, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang welcomed Mr. Bob McCooey's visit to Vietnam in the year of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and the second year of implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.

The Deputy Minister expressed his pleasure that the Vietnam-US relationship has maintained positive momentum in all fields, especially in economics and investment. In recent years, more and more large US corporations have been interested in expanding and increasing investment in Vietnam, especially leading corporations in technology, energy, and logistics. In the opposite direction, many Vietnamese enterprises have invested in the United States; the Investment Summit in the United States in May 2025 attracted more than 100 delegates from Vietnamese enterprises.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang affirmed that Vietnam hopes that the bilateral relationship will continue to develop stably and deeply, for the benefit of the people and businesses of the two countries, contributing to peace , stability and development in the region and the world.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang appreciated the interest of Nasdaq and Mr. Bob Mc Cooey personally in Vietnam's development, and suggested that Nasdaq continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam's partners, contributing to promoting bilateral cooperation in areas where the United States has strengths and Vietnam has needs, especially in infrastructure, energy, artificial intelligence and data centers.

Nasdag Vice President Bob McCooey expressed his impression of Vietnam's strong development, saying that FTSE Russell's upgrading of Vietnam's stock market from a frontier market to a secondary emerging market is an international recognition of its remarkable reform and development efforts in recent times.

Mr. Bob McCooey agreed with Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang's assessments of the Vietnam-US relationship, emphasizing that the two countries' upgrading of the framework to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has sent a strong message to US corporations and investment funds about the investment and business potential in Vietnam.

Vice President Nasdag pledged to continue efforts to promote bilateral cooperation, attracting more and more US corporations and companies to increase investment in Vietnam.
